Overview & Reviews
The Echo is unchanged for 2004.
- Good gas mileage, speedy acceleration, roomy and functional interior, Toyota reliability.
- Cartoonish styling, annoying gauge placement, shaky handling, deceptively low base pricing.

Fun Subcompact big value - 2004 Toyota Echo
By guye - April 5 - 10:00 amToyota fit, finish & reliability. Fun to drive and great on gas. Great in the city & on the highway. With the 5 speed manual gear this little car does real nice in the performance department too. For people with two young kids and need for just a bit of luggage or as a second car, this car is great! (5man/HB)

Lovin life in my Echo! - 2004 Toyota Echo
By Deco Doll - December 3 - 2:00 amIve added 126,000 miles to this car in 14 months & Ive LOVED it! Gas mileage is great - 38 mpg! Seven front seat storage compartments are unrivaled in ANY prev. car Ive owned for both quantity and convenience. Interior roominess is unbelievable - awesome for tall drivers! Id buy one for every day of the week, but its just not necessary.

Great Car - 2004 Toyota Echo
By Jeffery Smith - September 15 - 2:00 amExcelent car. On average I get 39 miles to the galon. The bigest problem I have with the car is the salesmen were realy pushing that you can go 7500 miles between oil changes when in reality if you read the manual 5000 is more like it unless your drive in perfect conditions. But 5000 miles is not bad and the car drives great.

Echo Hatchback Imported from Canada - 2004 Toyota Echo
By Locke - December 17 - 10:00 amWe purchased our Echo 5 door hatchback from a dealer in Canada, and imported it to the U.S. Call your nearest Toyota dealer across the border for the "how to do this" details. The warranty is valid in the U.S. The Hatchback is NOT a Scion, and is really not an Echo. It is a European designed car (called the Yaris) that in Europe typically has a smaller engine. For import to Canada they put in the Echo engine. The performance is fabulous. 40MPG all the time in mixed driving. Seats 4 adults in comfort. Its 2 inches longer than a Mini, and has plenty of room in the trunk for carry-on suitcases or grocery bags. Seats fold down for bigger things.

Great Car!!! - 2004 Toyota Echo
By Dijon Baker - April 16 - 10:00 amI really love my new ECHO, it is such a nice little car. It is comfortable and fun. I like having a nice car that is easy on the wallet but also a great car. I really like the exterior styling and the front seats are good for seeing a lot of what goes on outside. The only bad thing is the engine. A 1.8 liter engine, like the Corollas would be nice because it needs a little more power.

The Perfect Car - 2004 Toyota Echo
By ltrack - October 4 - 4:42 amBought this car used, 9 years old with 170,000km. It runs smooth as can be and I must get +50MPG. 650km to a tank in city driving. This is a dream car.

Its a good car - 2004 Toyota Echo
By dickie - July 21 - 2:00 amThe car is cute on the outside, maybe moreso for girls, and the inside is very comfortable. I like the way the guages are set off to the side. After a couple days driving it, it actually becomes easier to glance sideways to see the speedomoter and the gas mileage is great. My only problem is on the interstate the wind from a semi will blow it sideways. Other than that, I love my echo.
