By TommyB - July 21 - 2:00 amThis is perhaps the most fun car I have ever owned. Its pretty, quick, and can out corner almost anything else on the road. Who would have thought that on ramps could be so much fun! This was a solid car for the first two years. I had no problem whatsoever. Then, at 190,000 the first motor blew. At 240,000 miles I am on my third motor and second transmission. Replacement part are expensive when you can find what you need. Luckily, all that breaks is the motor and tranny! That said, I drive a lot of miles. I have had two American cars that hit 300k miles with less trouble. Great car, but not if the miles are high. This car is a fling, not a marriage! Great car - 2002 Toyota Celica
By silvercelica01 - April 22 - 10:00 amI was undecided if I wanted the GT or the GT-S. I am glad I chose the GT... however, get the 5-speed. The automatic is too slow. If you plan on putting a lot of mods on the car, then get the GT-S. But the powerband on both cars under 6500rpms is almost identical. The car looks great, and is very fun to drive. Taking corners is extremely fun.

By CelicaLicious - March 11 - 10:00 amThis is a GREAT car, even though for the 2002 model they lowered the fuel cut off from 8300 to 7800, making the car about .7 seconds slower in the 1/4mile. a lot of people have been complaining about it to car & driver, and other reputable magazines.. hopefully toyota will recall all 2002s and update our ECUs. but overall this is a great car! but if you plan on forced induction you are better off with the GT model, the GTS has a 11.5 compression ratio, and thats way too high..

By coolcar - September 20 - 2:00 amThis car is georgous... although its been around for 3 yrs now, the body is still beautiful!! It looks fast, drives fast (especially around the corners) and still get looks from other drivers. GT base engine is surprisingly fast, even with an automatic!!!

By HankInTempe - February 8 - 10:00 amI read all the reviews on all the magezines. Narrowed my list to 12 models, and test drive them. The Celica was low on the horsepower list, but best in suspention and handling. The power is outstanding for everyday driving. The gearbox and clutch are perfect. Lane changes and cornering are the best part of driving. The cockpit feels the best of any car I drive from Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi... The seats are low and give the go cart handling feel. I didnt want the best 0-60 time, but I do want to take corners at 40 mph. This car does exactly that. Off the lights, its no slug. Ive blown away some really nice cars. BUY ONE!!!
