This Year's Model Updates:

Toyota's perennially best-selling family sedan gets a complete makeover for 2007. Among the highlights are a roomier interior, additional luxury-oriented features, an available 268-hp V6 coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission, and a gasoline-electric hybrid model that earns EPA fuel economy estimates of 43 mpg city/37 mpg highway.

Pros:
  • Roomy cabin, powerful V6 engine, hybrid model available, legendary build quality and reliability history.
Cons:
  • No manual transmission available with V6, some odd styling elements.

  • Hesitation problem - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

I like the looks and interior but as described in some of the other reviews it has a hesitation problem when you slow down or brake, and then get back on the throttle. It takes about 3 seconds for anything to happen. It is fine from a standstill through all the gears. The car rides and handles well and is one of the safest cars on the road according to ntsa ratings.

Got Car in Nov.2011 with 61K miles, Car needed New amp for JBL system , then at 67,051 miles needed Waterpump replacement than at 71,508 miles needed Alternator replacement now im at 73500 miles no issues and keeping the regular service shedule and the car is doing wonderful and up to date on all recalls I currently experience tranny issues only in the winter months when its cold outside if I dont let the car warm up before taking off i use only 93 octan fuel and gumout every 3000 miles replaces both engine air filter and cabin air filter every 9000 miles I think toyota could have done better with covering some of the parts but toyota does whats best for business, not for client tale

  • 5 Years and 186,000 Miles Later... - 2007 Toyota Camry

Purchased new in September 2006 to replace a 1999 Camry LE V6 with 225,000 miles on it that I had purchased used. Ive replaced the brakes once (will need to replace again soon), the struts once, the battery last month, and changed the oil every 7 to 10,000 miles. Ive not had a single problem otherwise (except when a deer ran into it a couple years ago). Not a very exciting car, but a comfortable and reliable one.

  • 2007 4 Cylinder Camry SE = 19 MPG - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

My 07 4 cylinder Camry SE gets 19.1 MPG. Every advertisement from my window sticker to Edmunds.com says this 2007 Camry should get 24 to 33 MPG. We are not guessing. We have recorded every single gas up on a spreadsheet, its simple math. For 10 months our Camry has averaged 19.1 MPG. We went back to the dealer. After three visits they tested the vehicle and said nothing was wrong and it must be our poor driving habits. Please note: We have two other vehicles that we drive the same way, gas up at the same stations, and drive on the same roads through the same weather conditions. Our 02 Sante Fe/6 cyl gets 22 MPG, Our Impala/6 cyl gets 25 MPG. PS. Just updated our gas ups....18.9 MPG.

  • 2007 Camry LE - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

Im not as happy with this Camry (my second) as I expected to be. Its a pretty good car, reliable, comfortable as far as it goes, but limited rear visibility because of high rear bumper, and a problem with its computer "learning" my "driving style." This means that if Im an easygoing driver, but need quick acceleration for a situation, it hesitates while it thinks it over, and only then gives me speed. This has happened twice - one of the annoying (also dangerous) "nanny" features I mention below. Also, the exterior design is pretty ugly - Camry had an elegant and quite beautiful design for years; now its chunky and blobby.

  • Transmission/Windshield - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

Like everyone else, I have the problem with the transmission. Toyota needs to do a recall before someone gets seriously hurt. I also have a problem with a film on the windshield. Its kind of spotty. Ive tried to clean it; even took it to a car detail place, but it wont come off. This makes night time driving & driving in wet conditions day or night extremely difficult. The detail place told me they think its a defect in the windshield. Im taking the car into the dealership next week to see if they will correct these problems. Other than the above and the wind noise, I really love my Camry.

  • Car of the year???? - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

I am happy with the manual and it goes good off the line. However, how is this the car of the year? The dash slopes away from you so it is hard to use some controls on the radio. The wasted space in the radio den is amazing. The buttons are too spread out and can be hard to reach from either passenger or driver side. The steering wheel controls for the radio are awkward as they sit right next to each other instead of inverted. The radio has a blue backlighting that is very bright and can be distracting during night driving. The door locks are too small and its hard to tell which side locks or unlocks it and at night can be hard to find. Stuff rattles in the console or in the in dash storage.

  • Whered the quality go? - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

I have owned my Camry for over 2 years and 30,000 mi. Initially, I loved the car and couldnt drive it enough. Rattles, squeaking, and transmission troubles started shortly after. After several trips to the dealership, I am happy to report that everything has been taken care of. My wife and I were in a serious accident with it and while it was in the shop, we couldnt wait to get it back. Over the month it was in the shop, we rented several different cars and nothing seemed to measure up to the comfort and options of the Camry. Strongly recommend it, just make sure it has been taken to the dealership for the technical bulletins.

  • My third Camry - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

In general I am pleased with my Camry. At 35k miles I have had no transmission problems that others mention, nor any other mechanical issues. My major complaint is the cheap rubber from the factory, the tires wore out long before normal expectation. I made the mistake of buying the tires for life warranty which is a joke; the tread is measured and will not be replaced until nearly bald way past most peoples safety level. I was also not pleased with the noise, my prior Camrys were much quieter. I have owned two Camrys prior and several Celicas & Corollas as well. I will continue to drive Toyotas.

  • 2007 Camry Hybrid With 88,500 miles - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

This has been the best car I have ever owned...ever! In warmer weather it delivers 45 mpg, in winter 41 mpg. Taken it back to the dealer for oil/filter changes since new; every 3K-5K miles. Drive 97 miles per day commuting to work, mostly highway. Water pump went out at 65K miles, the hybrid drive battery at 72K miles. Dealer ate the labor, I paid $200 for the pump. Toyota covered main hybrid battery completely. Have never changed the brakes. Plan to keep the car forever.
