I traded a 2001 SR5 for this new LTD. The difference in feel is tremendous. The 01 was a great vehicle, and never cost us any money in repairs. The 07 looks better, has more front seat room, and drives really tight. I dont see how Toyota can improve on this model. I kept the last one almost 6 years, and Im sure down the road Ill be buying another 4Runner! Cant beat the reliability!

After 6 months of reading reviews on SUVs, picked the 4Runner. My second choice would have been the FJ Cruiser. Have had for 9 months and have had no problems at all. This is the first new vehicle Ive owned that has not been in the shop at least 3 times the first 6 months for repairs and/or adjustments. Mileage is 19 MPG city and 22 to 23 on the road. Its enjoyable to have a ride that only requires gas and oil changes. The vehicle I replaced was a 1988 S-10 Blazer purchased new; it was a great truck but the new Trail Blazers just did not impress me as being a SUV. The 4Runner is great in our Minnesota snow and ice, 4-wheel drive and traction control perform well.

I traded in a 1998, which was a VERY good car. This one is more refined, less truck like, and bigger. It gets about the same miles per gallon (19 in mixed driving, 24 on the highway at 55mph). No repairs after 6 months.

  • Off road capable and comfortable in town - 2007 Toyota 4Runner

Im very happy with my 07 4Runner SR5 4X4. This SUV does everything well. V6 has plenty of power (recommend V8 if you tow). The ride is very smooth and handling is excellent for a truck based SUV. I compared the 4Runner with all the competition and it is obvious that Toyota has the upper hand in quality. If you never venture offroad, other SUVs may better suit your needs. The 4Runner 4X4 has serious offroad capability without sacrificing a smooth ride and comfort. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this SUV.

Second 4Runner purchased. Incredibly well built and drives like a sports car! Made a HUGE mistake in the selection of this vehicle model stereo. The first 4Runner I owned had the JBL Synthesis 10 speaker system in it and it could blow you away. This 2006, I paid no attention and ended up with the basic head unit and basic speakers. Thousands of dollars later, I have aftermarket.

I wrote a review about my current Runner about 2 years ago, right after I purchased it used with 42k miles on it, so I thought Id do a little update. Now with 62k miles, this Runner has been nothing but wonderful! I drove my Runner from the East to West Coast carrying my family, two dogs and a Jetta right after I got her, and she ran beautifully, without a single complaint. I took her up to the mountains last winter and drove through heavy snow and black ice, with no chains, even though it is not 4x4, and she still handled like a dream. Wish I could write more, this vehicle is solid. If you are debating if its the right one for you, look no further!

After toying with several different kinds of cars/trucks, I chose the 4Runner and couldnt be happier. Love all the space, the comfort, the quietness, and the strong engine. Above all, I love how solid it feels. There is such a strong feeling of quality with this vehicle.

  • Love It! - 2007 Toyota 4Runner

The big 3 especially GM wonders why nobody wants their cars. Second Toyota and never seen a shop.. Love the 4-Runner.. Smooth handling, Good on fuel, fun to drive. Wish it had a scoche more headroom, but I was unwilling to buy the poor mans SR5. The Limited with the sunroof is the only way to go. The Nav needed help as the one in my F250 rocks! But durability hands down no worries with Toyota!
