  • Pleasantly Surprised - 2010 Subaru Outback

We purchased this car because we are seriously considering a move north of Florida. I had an 06 4-Runner we turned in, and although I loved that SUV, I really love this new Suby too. It sits lower than the 4-Runner did, comparable to my husbands Escape, but it handles much better, sportier than the Escape. Takes some getting used to in traffic since I am accustomed to sitting higher off the road. I really wanted the Tribeca to start (for the 3rd row seats), but the extra $10K wasnt realistic - or necessary - because I am more than satisfied with this purchase...highly recommend for a small family who wants a sporty car with plenty of room and plenty of life for an excellent price.

  • Love My Subaru.. - 2010 Subaru Outback

Loving my Outback, I am a first time Subaru owner and it is great and fun to drive. Comfort level wonderful and enough room for a car seat in the back with plenty of leg room for a toddler. Just the right size. My husband drives and SUV and we agreed to scale down. I looked at all crossover, Rav $, CR-V, GMC and this one was the bested priced, best rating for safety. Hands down this car came in first and a good all around.

  • Subaru = Love - 2010 Subaru Outback

I have had my new Outback for 3 weeks now and I am in love! After trading in a 2005 275hp Xterra, wasnt sure the 4cyl engine would have enough power...but wow it surely does! I live literally on the side of a mountain and this car tackles it smoothly. I love how it handles, feels very connected to the road - doesnt hydroplane over puddles, no slippage at all. There is so much interior space, the heated seats are very comfortable on long rides, love the media hub (controls and plays my ipod perfectly through the stereo), the bluetooth works great, roomy rear seats, spacious trunk. Very dog friendly as well, easy to get in and out of. Ive no regrets about my new Outback, Im in love!

  • Curtain Extra? - 2010 Subaru Outback

I only had my outback for 1 week, and soon far we love it. We didnt receive the curtain for the back area. I thought that was standard. Does anyone know? We ask the dealership, and they reply that was extra.

  • Great Car- but lack of features - 2010 Subaru Outback

Dont get me wrong, I really do love my Subaru. It has awesome gas mileage and goes great. Its the little things that you might just "expect" that Im finding. Like: the passenger seat is manual and doesnt have the up and down movement or back support, if you put the window lock on you (as the driver) cannot work the windows either, when you turn the car off you cannot still listen to the radio or adjust the windows (even if a door hasnt been opened), I dont know about other models but on really hot days my air just isnt cold enough, theres a few other "little" things but I cant remember more right now

  • Happy so far - 2010 Subaru Outback

Have had it for a month and already drove it on sleet and ice for a couple of days. AWD was great on the ice. Very smooth and quiet on the hwy - doesnt break a sweat at 75. Handles well. Sufficient power. Not the best looking exterior Ive ever seen, but all around great car for the $. Very few crossovers with AWD/4WD get this kind of fuel economy.

  • Good Value - 2010 Subaru Outback

Our Outback is now 2 years old and has been a great vehicle. Its big enough for trips around town, yet fits in the garage. It has more than enough leg room in the rear seat and still have plenty of cargo room. The CVT transmission takes a little getting used to, but overall has been great. Itll take a second to build revs when you hit the gas, but a normal transmission would take a second to downshift too, so its about the same. Child seat is easy to install and remove. Our Outback has been averaging 28 mpg with mostly intown driving. On a recent trip, the highway MPG was averaging 34. Ive seen a lot of complaints about steering issues. I havent experienced any, ours does fine.

I didnt think any car would seem better to me than my 2006 Forester 2.5XT (which Im keeping). We drove the 2010 Outback thinking maybe next year for my husband - and decided we had to have it now. I am so jealous. My only complaints - I like oil and temp gauges - not idiot lights; and no ashtray available is just silly. Love the CVT - this will give us great mileage and it has as much giddy-up as our Turbo - handy for merging on our interstates. Wonderfully smooth, quiet. Paddles for downshifting will be great in the mountains. The re-design is complete - looks nothing like 2009 Outback - way bigger inside. Wish I could afford two.

  • Great All Around - 2010 Subaru Outback

I was attracted to the Outback Limited 2.5 with the CVT because the design and engineering are very well integrated. The horizontally opposed 4 cylinder engine mated with the continuously variable transmission work harmoniously to give the symmetrical all wheel drive a stable grip on most surfaces. Paddle shifters are great. I got the Outback to travel between upstate NYs snows and New York City. I like to get out on some less than smooth back roads and a lot of NY city roads are as rough as back roads; the Outback takes it all and delivers a fine ride. I got the car loaded with everything except the moon roof and the GPS. The interior is luxurious without being over the top.

  • Smooth - 2010 Subaru Outback

Researched for months searching for the best value family vehicle. Compared the typical contenders. Subaru dealer asked me to try the Outback? Why not? SOLD! $2,000 more than a Forester gets $10,000 more car. Continuously Variable Transmission is smooth, Interior is higher end, and solid driving feel drives like a luxury automobile! LOVE IT!
