Traded in a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT, which served through 130,000 miles of blatant abuse. Needed similar accommodations, and the new Outback fits the bill: its very roomy, has comfortable seating front AND rear, and more cargo space than the Magnum did. We opted for the 2.5liter 4 cyl, and I was worried about not having enough power, but found adequate passing power, and smooth and quiet performance. Im 65" and over 300 lbs, and found the driving position and seating comfort among the very best that I have found, and a 6+ passenger can still ride comfortably behind me. Easy to use controls, superb ride and confident handling. Its a real revelation.

Have put about 2000 miles on our new Outback and were loving it! We considered a Toyota Venza, Acura RDX and this and after driving these vehicles, the Subaru was the winner hands down. While we dont consider it quite as stylish as the other two, this car is quiet, fits just right and has the features, gas mileage, quiet good ride and build quality we were looking for. Were averaging 26 mpg back and forth to work and have averaged 31 mpg on a 350 mile trip so far. And its all on regular fuel. Trade an Audi A4 wagon and the ride height and roominess of the Subaru are so much better!

Just picked up the new subaru. Hard to find six cylinder ltd, but in my opinion the six cylinder is the way to go for highway driving. Drove both the 4 cyl and 6 cylinder and the 6 had a lot less road noise and seemed more solid. Drive both before you buy and you will see what I mean, and you can decide if the extra cost of the 6 is worth it. The interior is very comfortable. It would help if the passenger seat had a height adjustment like the drivers seat. It may be cramped for taller passengers if the sunroof option is added. Looked at a lot of suvs and the subaru seemed like a great value for what you get. Try one

  • Not Worth It - 2010 Subaru Outback

We bought the 2010 Subaru Outback Premium with CVT and all weather options. The quality of this car is not as good as it looks. Driving up a slope and the engine makes a lot of noise. While driving in high speed on freeway, you hear noise and squeaky behind in trunk. It is not worth it. It is the first and last of my Subaru Outback!

  • Traded in 1997 Outback, should have kept it! - 2010 Subaru Outback

I bought this 2010 in Dec 2009 and ready to trade it in for something other than Subaru. 1st, the old OB had a car chassis (great ) and now an SUV/Truck chassis (awful). 3 recalls, stalling with A/C on full, squeaky seats, under powered engine, cant find door unlock button at night, rocky and jolting ride (Truck chassis). This car is much bigger than the real station wagon Outback. I wish I knew at the time Subaru made these major, value destroying changes, to the Outback. We are very disappointed with this car and I wish I knew they made these

  • Wheres the manuals? - 2010 Subaru Outback

Got my Outback a couple weeks ago. It had been on order for four weeks. Apparently SOA will not be manufacturing/shipping manual transmissions unless there has been a high demand in an area. Only found one dealer located 300 miles away willing to order vehicle. Would have liked to have gotten the bigger engine, but not offered with manual. This is my fourth Outback. It is a BIG car. Handles great. Quiet on hgwy. Mileage around 25. Rear hatch difficult to close. Hidden radio antenna, which causes poor reception. Clock/temp readouts recessed near windshield. Hard to read. MPG gauge worthless. Even with its quirks, great vehicle.

  • Really really like it, but... - 2010 Subaru Outback

Its quiet and well thought out. There is plenty of leg room for four adults. Im having a little trouble with the front bolster on the drivers seat cutting off the circulation in my lower legs and feet. I agree with others about the gauge showing fuel economy, would rather have water temp. The roof rack is a clever solution to a non-problem. Subaru should offer a replacement rail for this so we can fit our old Yakima rack one can actually use. The CVT is great but it is taking some time to adjust to the longer coasting distance. Is it just me or doesnt it feel good hand washing it? If Subaru comes out with a diesel and fixes the roof rack I might buy a second one.

  • You will never regret - 2010 Subaru Outback

This is the first Subaru we have. But by reviews from others as well as media reports, we were convinced this is the right car for us. The overall design is attractive, and we like the combination of sport, safety, fuel efficiency, styling, etc. At this price, it should be on the top of the list.

  • 2010 Outback Limited - Let It Snow! - 2010 Subaru Outback

We purchased our Outback for the style, comfort, gas mileage, and the all wheel drive. This is our first Subaru and we really enjoy the all wheel drive. The interior and sound system is exceptional. This car goes in the snow!!! Would recommend it to any one looking for good value and a pleasant ride. On dry roads it handles better than any vehicle we have had since our 1972 Camero.
