Overview & Reviews
The 2007 Subaru Forester lineup includes two additional trim levels, the Sports 2.5 X and Sports 2.5 XT, which offer a hip styling motif inside and out. In other news, all Foresters except the base 2.5 X model get an upgraded CD player with MP3, WMA and CD-RW capability. It's also Sirius Satellite Radio-ready and has an auxiliary jack for connecting handheld MP3 players. Additionally, the base 2.5 X gains electronic brakeforce distribution, while the Forester XT Limited gets standard 17-inch wheels. The front door panels in all Subaru Foresters now have bottle holders, and the base engine now meets the PZEV standard in California and the Northeastern states. Lastly, the turbo engine has been re-rated for 224 horsepower.
- Class-leading crash test scores, standard all-wheel drive, rides and handles like a car, powerful turbo engine.
- Tight legroom in the backseat, too much road noise at highway speeds.

Perforated Rust on a 2+ year old Subi - 2007 Subaru Forester
By Karen - July 7 - 11:50 amAfter doing careful research on the internet and speaking to some Subi owners I decided to buy my first Subi. Everything was going well until I found perforated rust on the rear hatch door and on all the door bolts and in other places under the hood. While Subaru replaced the door and changed all the bolts, I no longer feel that this vehicles body had integrity. What about the rust that may exist in the door panels? Will the rust rear its ugly head after the 5 year warranty? This rust problem existed on cars 20 yrs ago, not today. This uncertainty has led me to trade in my Subi for a different car make altogether. I can no longer trust a Subaru, which is too bad.

Great Value for the Money - 2007 Subaru Forester
By greydigger07 - May 21 - 12:40 amI purchased the Forester after many months of comparison shopping and test drives and 15,000 miles later, I couldnt be happier with my choice. I get around 27 mpg from mostly highway driving and have the safety and security of AWD to boot! Last winter, Chicago had one of the worst snowstorms in its history. Despite whiteout conditions and huge snow drifts, my Forester got me home and was sure footed and confident the whole time. The car has great outward vision, decent pickup for merging and great handling thanks to its flat four and lower ride height. In my opinion, the Forester is perfect for someone who wants more space but doesnt want to give up the fun of a small car.

Subaru reliability & longevity marketing is a joke - 2007 Subaru Forester
By S. Saunders - May 12 - 6:58 amThis is a very unreliable car. Our 07 Forester LL Bean edition has had one odd expensive repair after another. Our car has 118,000 miles on it, was bought new, and has had one driver. Six years after purchase the AC condensor "disintegrated" resulting in a $1,100 repair. Last month, the fuel tank valves and transmission cooler lines had to be replaced. Again, $1,200. Three weeks later, the alternator went bad, estimated cost around $1,000. In the past 6 months, weve had over $3,500 in repairs. We bought a Subura because it was supposed to be reliable and for its longevity. Thats not the case. Our car has been routinely maintained by the dealership and always had the recommended servicing based on mileage. My previous car was a Honda and only had routine repairs. We will never buy another Subaru.

Think twice - 2007 Subaru Forester
By Impalabob - March 29 - 9:50 amThink twice before buying this vehicle. We had a 98 & 2000 Forester. For the price, you couldnt ask for more. Purchased 2007 Forester in Jan. 07. Major complaint is the design area between the hood and windshield, the hidden vents, wiper motor, defroster, etc. Living in upstate New York, we have had three occasions where the snow & ice will accumulate on the wiper blades, arms, and in the space between hood & windshield, freezing, & preventing the wiper motor from working properly. Never happened with the 98 or 2000. Vents were on top & visible, not hidden. Subarus answer, "get winter blades" or should have ordered premium pkg., $1000.+, includes deicer strip.

shy rocket - 2007 Subaru Forester
By Fyrecherdo - February 11 - 8:46 amThis is my first Subaru. Ive owned mostly Toyotas. I love the Boxer engine and the feel of AWD. I put two of my buddies inside for a spin and surprised them when the front end "launched" straight up when accelerated. From the outside this car looks like a soccer-mom transport.
