The 2010 Subaru Forester gets mild equipment changes. Last year's Premium package is now considered a trim level and additionally includes a standard power driver seat. The L.L. Bean Edition trim level is no more, though it was actually discontinued midway through last year. The optional navigation system now includes Bluetooth connectivity.
- Standard all-wheel drive, roomy cabin with ample cargo space, comfortable ride, capable engines, excellent safety scores.
- Outdated four-speed automatic transmission, so-so fit and finish.

By canuck - November 21 - 2:10 pmthe good - looks decent, good rear storage, lots of room for kids in back seat, decent towing capacity the bad - noisy engine, uncomfortable seats front, poor drink holders, well hidden heated seat controllers, stupid blue light over rear mirror, small controls for stereo and cruise. the ugly - the stereo is poor, but above all .... it RATTLES ! various cheap plastic components rattle under all conditions, the ceiling, the doors, the dash, the windows, the trunk, front heat deflector.

Early Buyer - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Bradley - November 18 - 6:33 pmI got one of the first 2010 Foresters available in my area, and have had nothing but great experiences with it. The interior is much roomier than the previous version of this model, and the controls are laid out attractively and logically. The Moon Roof is simply gargantuan, making the car more fun to drive than is the case with most SUVs. Power is sufficient for my needs (I havent tried to tow anything), and MPG is in the 23-25 range for combined suburban-&-highway driving. I wish Subaru offered the Forester in green (they dont), but thats a minor quibble. Overall, the 2010 Forester is every bit as fine as "Consumer Reports" says it is -- i.e., outstanding!

On My Third Forester - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Qnique - November 9 - 10:00 amMy 2005 Forester gave it up for me and protected me when a semi ran me into a cement median going 65 mph. I walked away with only bruises from the seat belt. The 2010 Forester replacement is 3" taller and 3" longer. It is very roomy and comfortable. I personally prefer the fabric upholstery (not hot in the summer and cold in the winter), AND the front seats are heated! Even though the car is larger, the tight turning radius is still very good. I have not experienced any issues with rattles or noise. In fact, this 10 is much quieter than the 05. More than anything, my Foresters have always been excellent handling, spunky, reliable and have risen to any challenge presented.

Dont expect more than what you pay for - 2010 Subaru Forester
By sunnynaples - September 26 - 10:00 amSubaru 2.5x Special Edition. I bought the 2010 Forester based on safety ratings and reliable all wheel drive. It drives great in heavy rain. The interior is roomy enough for a tall 63" man to fit comfortably front and back. The cargo area has an outlet for a fan and fits the dog and dog bed perfectly. Like the other reviews mentioned, you hear road noise. I had my non-Subaru mechanic take it for a spin & he said it was because the engine itself is so quiet. The interior fixings arent great, but the car was about 10k less than what most of my friends have paid for American SUVs. Overall, Im satisfied with the purchase and hope to keep the car 10- 12 years.

Awesome Car - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Chloe - September 20 - 10:10 amThis car is amazing. I picked it because I dont know too many people who drive it, and I feel like a million bucks when I am in it. I used to drive a Saturn L2, so this is quite a difference! I get 26-30 MPG on the highway with this car. Its the perfect size for me, though I could see a family of 4 driving it as well. Everyone I have driven in it loves it, and I like its size--big enough for passive safety, but not as gigantic as some other SUVs out there. Even my dad who is against "foreign cars" (even though its built here) likes it a lot. No buyers remorse whatsoever--best first car I could ever get!

A Keeper! - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Patrick - September 15 - 2:33 pmWife and I live on the Navajo Indian Reservation where most traveling is considered long distance. Thirty percent of driving on the Reservation is off road. Sand, mud, and snow is not a problem for my basic 2010 Forester and road driving is a pleasure. I use my Silverado truck for *fair weather* driving. Forester does it all for my Wife and I. We intend to be conservative with it and keep it for years. Thank you Subaru.

New to Subaru - 2010 Subaru Forester
By Mermac55 - September 12 - 7:53 amIve had two Accords and wanted something different. Amazed to find it at the Subaru store. The Forester was like at first sight, love at first drive. It is roomy, comfortable, smooth driving and has the best of all features- clean looks, hidden spare, panoramic viewing. The moon roof is heaven- crack the back windows to exit turbulence and you get lots of air without wind buffeting or road noise! I would never order an auto dimming rearview mirror, however when all the headlights behind me muted to a soft green I simply went Aaaah! True, the interior is basic rather than elegant, however the content is more than enough to make a lover of simple pleasures happy. Cant wait to heat up my seat!

1 year later - 2010 Subaru Forester
By mrstjk - June 14 - 5:14 pmwrote a review 8/10 after 1 mth ownership, gas smell was a mouse who had eaten the gas line! fixed-no repeats. 5/11-leaking from rear shoulder harness after a few days rain. seal on sunroof pulled loose & drain not connected. okay until this week - again leaking. two days in shop and they cannot recreate leak. my concern is about mold/mildew/rust in future. thinking about getting rid of it if dealer or Subaru wont do something. otherwise, I do love the Forester. great in snow/handles well/has improved to 22-23 MPG, mixed so not too bad. little "rough" til it warms up but after that, is quiet. seems to hold value in resale - at least at dealer.

My First Subaru - 2010 Subaru Forester
By CB - June 5 - 11:13 amThis is my first Subaru. To date I am very satisfied with the SUV. Handles well and is fun to drive. Certainly meets all of my needs from shopping, golfing and traveling.
