This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Scion tC hatchback sees its lineup expand with the addition of a new, stripped-down, less expensive trim level. Dubbed the Spec trim, Scion's intention is to have this model serve as a blank canvas to be used as a starting point for customization. The Spec trim trades the base trim's 17-inch wheels for 16-inchers, foregoes the base model's power sunroof for a fixed glass roof and offers unique upholstery and interior trim.

Pros:
  • Many standard features, sharp handling, roomy cabin, value-oriented price.
Cons:
  • A couple of odd design elements, bland styling.

The scion tC is a wonderful car! It is fun to drive and is made very well. I would recommend this car to everyone interested in a sporty yet comfortable vehicle.

Great car for the money. This car is actually heavier (at nearly 4,000 lbs.) than my Saab 900. It handles and performs well for its weight/power distribution. Cargo space is wonderful but you wouldnt want this car if you are a 6 footer. First gear is very high and the clutch does not engage smoothly in low gears. (first and second). Mileage is good but not great in this day and age. I consistently get 30 mpg. The material which covers the dash board was warped on the passenger side from new. Scion refuses to honor this as a warranty issue. No biggie.

I was blissfully ignorant of the existance of this car up to a week ago. What a surprise! Ive never seen a car loaded with the extras this car has for the price, and the 2.4L engine gives it surprising zip. Im only surprised that there arent more on the road. My 19 year old cant stay away from it.

I really want to like this car, but I cant help feeling I made a horrible decision here. Theres nothing actually WRONG with this car, its just that after a few months driving it, Ive realized that Ive just bought a pretty standard economy car, the number one issue being that its no fun to drive at all. It has good power for such a cheap car, but unfortunately its suspension is way too soft, it leans too much in corners, and its isolated from the road like a sedan, instead of a sports coupe. I like to hear some noise and feel some bumps, and I like hard solid suspension so I feel confident in corners. Put the Mazda3s suspension on this car and itd be perfect for the price.

It was between the Civic and the tC, and in performance on the road, let me tell you this guy rocks for a 4 cyl. Got the Bazooka sub from the dealer, and it produces an OK amount of bump, but you can certainly get a lot more for the money with an aftermarket one. The only thing I really miss is automatic headlights. Its been a month and 1000 miles later, and Im really pleased with my purchase! I highly recommend this car for anyone not wanting to spend a lot of cash for a lot of bang!

I just bought this car a few weeks ago. So far it is great in almost every aspect. The highway gas mileage seems low though (only 28 mpg so far) I am hoping that it gets better. It drives great and is a great compromise for practicality. I am not excited about the low treadwear of the tires.

After trading in my 2005 Scion xA, I took my new 2007 tC out for a test drive on Bartlett Dam Rd. outside Phoenix, AZ. It handled the twisting, hilly roads with no problems. The cornering was almost flawless, due to sand on the road, but it handled wonderfully. The tC accelerates quickly and definitely shows it has power to spare. Fair warning, Its easy to spin the tires when power shifting into 2nd gear.

Read previous reviews. I have experienced some of the problems, poor clutch feel out of first, radio door cover squeak, road noise with sunroof open but overall a good looking fun car with good economy and reliability. One feature no one has mentioned is easy access to the oil filter. I can change the oil without lifting the car. Try that on your civic/rsx! Could use a rear wiper and more LEDs on the high mount tailight.

  • So far has been a great ride!!! - 2007 Scion TC

I just bought my 2007 TC about a month and a half ago with 81,000 miles on it. Ive put a little over 4,000 on it with no problems as of yet and drive about 60 -70 miles a day round trip to work getting right around 30 mpg. Love the handling and acceleration, car looks great, constantly getting compliments and looks where ever I go. Im 65" and think that the car has plenty of room for the driver but is a bit tight in the back seat. Smoking in the car is nearly impossible though. The ashes come right back into the car and is nearly unavoidable so am finding myself cleaning the interior quite a bit which isnt very fun but all cars have there down fall and not everyone smokes! lol
