  • Not happy at all with it - 2006 Scion TC
    By -

We bought a 2006 Scion tc 6 months ago. It had 50,000 miles on it so we thought it would be a good dependable car for us. First off the gas mileage is horrible for a car this size. We have gotten 26 at best averaging 24. The seats are not comfortable on long trips. We have had several check engine lights come on where the mechanic could find nothing wrong. Last night my wife was driving it home and noticed smoke billowing out from under the hood. We took it to a mechanic and found out that it needs a new motor because of a common problem with the head and block. The price tag to fix this is over $6000. This is a common issue that I found out Toyota refuses to recall and take care of.

  • Loving this Car - 2006 Scion TC

The worst thing about my Scion tC was having to wait four weeks to get it! I absolutely love this car. Its sleek, sporty, and sexy, yet comfortable, roomy, and reliable. Im so pleased with the quality of car I received for the small price I paid - and cant get over how LOADED it comes in the base model. It drives smoothly and accelerates nicely, hugs curves, and catches the eye of so many other drivers (I see you looking!). Its an absolute gem.

  • Great Car! - 2006 Scion TC

Having driven a Chevy Tahoe previously, I am very satisfied with the performance and reliability of the 2006 Scion tC. I originally purchased them for two teenagers in the family, but I fell in love with it and am now driving it 80% of the time. We may have to get another one in the near future! The price of the tC is very reasonable and insurance is not excessively high. I had wanted a Ford Mustang, but decided against it. The tC may look compact but the back seat is very roomy for someone of average height. The ride is rough at times, but it gives you that sport car feel to it. It has great acceleration and braking power. The tC is fun to drive and handles well.

  • A good car for the money - 2006 Scion TC

The two major complaints that I have about the car are its paint quality and interior integrity. The sqeaky dash board makes my new car feel cheap. Not everyones will sqeak, but it is a bit common for tCs to have this problem. Its a great looking car inside and out. The 06 Civic was really the only competition to me. I think the Civic Si would be a better buy if your more concerned about accleration, handling, sports feel (overall performance), but if your into size and comfort go with the tC. It has plenty of rear passenger leg/head room. The doors are too big and way too heavy. They tend to make it difficult to get out in tight parking areas. For the price wouldnt consider anything else besides tC or Civic.

  • The Best car for the money!! - 2006 Scion TC

I got my 2006 Scion tC about a months ago. I traded in a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Im really happy that I bought it becouse it has a lot of standart options such as one touch power windows, a panoramic roof (sunroof and moonroof), folding rear seats, tire pressure sensor, 4 wheel ABS, an MP3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and Toyota quality!

  • Just Drive A Scion tC...Its Amazing - 2006 Scion TC

Im in my late 40s and have never been one to get very excited about cars. I took a test drive just for fun in a 2006 Scion tC and instantly fell in love with the body style, handling and curves of interior. When I compared it to the Civic and Corrolla in terms of price and features the decision was hands down for the tC. I have read over 50 pages of reviews by owners and agree it is a major fun to drive. You tend to smile every time you get in it, and I am serious about that. People honestly think it is in the $25,000 - $30,000 price range. Its gas milege can be a little low though. I am averaging 25ish during the break in period but word is after 3,000 miles of break and adding a non-stock air filter 29 is possible.

  • Very Fun to Drive - 2006 Scion TC

Im pretty happy with my decision to buy a tC. Its great fun to drive, handles well, and I adore its looks. I got a rear spoiler, which improves its looks even more. I drive to work every day, and living in a city a coupe comes handy. Of course it could use a little more torque or hp (well, most cars could), but I would like to point out that I often find myself making turns on the highway at over 60 mph. It took me a while to get used to the gearbox (revving up to higher rms makes the gear shifts much smoother). And did I mention the gorgeous sunroof/moonroof?

  • Love it! - 2006 Scion TC

Ever since i began driving my Scion tC, I have loved it. To anyone thinking about buying one, DO IT! It is a smooth riding car, and if you want it for driving fast, its that car too. Everyone that I come in contact with, loves it. It comes stock with 17" rims and a Pioneer stereo! Thats just one of the best parts. Another part I love, is the sun and moonroof....They are awesome!

  • Senior owner - 2006 Scion TC

I’ve owned my tC for a few weeks now and I must say that I am amazed at what I got for my money. I’m a senior in my mid 60s and have owned a lot of cars in my day. I enjoy driving smaller cars and when I looked around at what was available the tC stood head and shoulders above anything else in its price range and even some that cost a whole lot more. Every option that I wanted, including some that I would have never considered, were included at no extra cost. I knew it was a good deal when I bought it but after driving it several hundred miles I’m even more impressed with the tC’s performance, handling and overall quality. It was well worth the wait.

  • 79K and all major parts needed replacement - 2006 Scion TC
    By -

Every plastic piece in the interior that can snap has. And of course the exterior rear lift/license plate cover has too. Also cracked lower front cladding when almost new just by tapping a curb. Very comfortable seats, even in the back. Great ergonomics, instrumentation, and electronics for 2006. Audio quite good. Noise is completely tire related - originals and Goodyears were terrible. Michelin Pilots are great. In town mileage is terrible - ~17 at best. Have gotten 30 on long trips. Mechanicals quality are terrible: have replaced - brakes and rotors x2, tires x3, clutch, And now needs a new transmission (bearings and shifter linkage) at 79K. Would NEVER buy another Scion or Toyota ever, despite everyone I know who has one feeling the opposite. Have had a Nissan and 2 Hondas and will be going back to them.
