The steering in my Scion tC is just a bit too tight - but that is the ONLY thing to complain about. This car has plenty of power for a 4-cyl. and a great cabin design. It also has plenty of room, lots of bells and whistles, and I didnt have to sell a kidney to buy it. It really is the best value I can remember in recent years.

  • Lovin it at age 40 - 2006 Scion TC

Who says this is for the young generation? Im having fun driving this thing. Im usually the SUV type a guy but ever since the gas price started going up, I will be driving this baby spring thru fall! I feel like Im driving in a sports car. I get an avg of 25 mpg in mixed highway / city driving. Although, once broken in...it will be better on gas. I think this car will bring out the midlife crisis in me. Im already thinking of modifying it...uh oh! This car has a lot of torque. It will take time getting use to the 1st gear. It has a lot of wheel spin, but definitely stick with the manual tranny.

I had a 2005 Scion tC that i just wrecked and totaled out about a week ago. I hit another car doing 45 mph and aside from being knocked unconcious from the airbags for about 15 min, I got only one minor scrach from the knee airbag as my only injury. I actually opened the door and walked away with no help at all. I give this car GREAT marks on saftey and performance and Im about to get another to replace my toatled one. As for the people that talk bout gas, ITS A SPORTS CAR! I averaged 30 mpg and NEVER under 28. This is the BEST car for the money. I love the car!

I have owned this car for two years now and I am ready to write a review. The low sloping roof reminds me of the custom 1950s mercs. The monster sunroofs add to the attitude. As far as performance goes, I have no complaints. The manual transmission model comes with a 4:20 final gear ratio. (thems drag racing gears). The 5 speed can take a little bit to get used to with the electronic throttle control, but once you get it figured out you will own the road. To sum it up, this is the best car I have ever owned. If this car were $5,000 more, I would pay it and still be just as content. As far as fuel economy goes.I have averaged 40 mpg on long trips at 65 mph. Much better than advertised.

  • Scion tC, Center Console FIRE! - 2006 Scion TC

All around this is a nice car but...its reliability is poor! An iPod plugged in to the center console (designed and factory installed by Toyota) caught fire and caused over $8,000 worth of repairs NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. Toyota blamed it on the iPod which miraculously STILL WORKS! We were told that Toyota had never had any problems with this. My thoughts...there is ALWAYS A FIRST ONE! We will never buy another Toyota.

Had trouble finding a dealer that would sell a tC basically stock. I ordered it thanks to an Edmunds.com referal. Ordered on a Wednesday, picked it up the following Wednesday. All I added was the mats.

well, this car has been pretty reliable, its fun to drive, and it gets...decent gas mileage. and i mean decent. it gets 23 mpg, city or highway, always. yeah. not as good as id hoped but oh well. basically its a good car, fun, reliable, safe.

  • Solid Car thats Stylish too - 2006 Scion TC

This car is my first new car purchase, after graduating college I was looking for a stylish looking car that would be reliable as well. The scion tC is that car. Pros: Great looking, nice stereo, quick for a 4-cyl., interior design is stylish, back seats a roomy and all seats are comfortable and this car defenitly looks more exensive than it is (will get expensive when you add options like I did) and you can customize it. Cons: loud engine, rims scratch real easy, small trunk (but who really cares about trunk space). Overall I give this car a B and it is the perfect choice for a first car.

Its been 8 months since I purchased my new Scion tC. It is an excellent car for the price. My only suggestion would be to increase the length of the car a little bit, so it looks more sleek and nice. The drive is very comfortable and its a very stable car .

I have loved my Scion tC from the day I picked it up at the dealership. It handles so very well for me. The pickup is great when starting up. I am a short woman and I love that the car doesnt seem to overwhelm me with size.
