This Year's Model Updates:

Saturn has upgraded the Ion with new fabrics, improved plastics and a new radio with MP3 and satellite radio capability. The electric steering has been revised for improved feel at highway speeds, while the sedan's five-speed automatic and the coupe's CVT have been recalibrated for improved gear selection and response. Finally, Saturn has installed additional sound-deadening material to reduce cabin noise. A Special Edition version of the sedan provides black exterior paint, distinctive 16-inch wheels and a two-tone interior.

  • Great Car - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

This car is all I expected and more. Handles great. Comfortable and roomy. Solid feel. Love the plastic side panels (this car looks new after 4.5 years). Excellent styling. No maintenance issues. Very powerful acceleration and cruises nicely - I have found myself doing 90 when I am not paying attention. For the base saturn this is quite a car.

  • I Love My ION! - 2004 Saturn ION

The people at the dealership were friendly and NOT pushy! They didnt bug me about extras and only explained what i asked. Wonderful experience! Before I even went to the dealership, i called and told them what car i wanted and what features i wanted. Within hours, they had the exact car available for a test drive. Not just an hour long test drive, but a 24 hour test drive. By the end of the 24 hours, I was in love.

  • fun to drive - 2004 Saturn ION

I feel that the car is cool to drive around in. Alot of people have stopped to ask me what it is... how the doors work(in quad coupe) and to generally comment on how much they like it.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR!!! I TEST DROVE THE CIVIC, CAVALIER, SUNFIRE, MAZDA 6, 3, AND MITSUBISHI LANCER... NONE OF THEM EVEN COMPARE WITH THIS ION, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE PRICE!!! THIS 04 ION ROCKS! YOU WILL LOVE THIS CAR. I DONT UNDERSTAND THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BY THE SO- CALLED "EXPERTS"... THE 04 ION WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE, INNOVATIVE, MOST POWERFUL, APPEALING, AFFORDABLE, ROOMIEST CAR IN ITS CLASS... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

  • Smart Car !! - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

This thing is about the smartest vehicle on the market. The lightweight, plexifiberglas automobile feels just great to drive. It has a dentfree body and the car is pretty fuelefficient. Great, great, great !! And -- its not a box !! The quality is the same than any other car built somewhere around the world. Any car can be made on any assemblyline anywhere anyway. Saturn ION 3 Coupe = Smart car !!

  • Lots of plastic - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

This is our third Saturn, and weve loved all of them. The ION QC3 is Electric Blue, and the exterior definately has a much more thought-out exterior than the sedan. I also love the interior design; its so nice to see something different, even if its molded in rock-hard plastic. The main reason for this is because the polymer panels are so expensive, they have to cut back somewhere. This car is very fun to drive, and the rear access doors have been known to cause a crowd to gather. The CVT provides a quick boost of power when needed, btu it starts to whine at higher RPMs. Quite literally. The seats dont offer much lateral support under hard cornering, but are comfortable otherwise.

  • No complaints here! - 2004 Saturn ION

Ive had this car for just over 2 years and have loved every minute of it. Keep in mind that the car is not dent-PROOF, only dent-RESISTANT, so dont go kicking it or anything, but to this day I dont have a single ding on my car. (The top of the car is not dent-resistant, but that very seldomly poses a problem.) Equally happy with all other features of the vehicle. Great ride, comfortable, decent gas mileage.

  • A great reliable car - 2004 Saturn ION

I just traded in my Dodge Ram 1500 that had a 5.2 v8 in it. Great truck but this car puts it to shame except in comfort and build quality. This Saturn scoots like no ones buisness. I can get it to squeal the tires in every gear. The car just loves to go fast. I love this car. At the time of purchase the dealer i went to had a rebate of $4500 which knocked the price from $12, 325 to $7,825. I glad I didnt pass up the deal, its been a great car.

  • Sneaky Speed - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

People who dont know, dont realize what it is until they are way back in the rearview mirror. The Ion redline is a mighty might that has what I like to refer to as sneaky speed. It is somewhat unassuming if you dont know what is under the hood, but then when the skinny pedal on the right hits the floor, people try to catch up just to find out what it is that hit them.

  • Super! - 2004 Saturn ION

I drive a ton of miles on the highway. This car is great to zoom in and out of traffic, lots of power at the high end of the RPMs. Handles great too. This car is engineered with lots of go fast parts that work together very well. And you couldnt build a regular ION (new) up to be this fast for the price. Ive surpised many other drivers in cars we always thought were fast...by pulling away from them on the highway. Not much torque steer. With 205 HP I expected it be squirly, but its well behaved. If you are going to spend 20k on a 4 cylinder car, why wouldnt you get one thats this much fun?
