This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 9-3 is an all-new design from top to bottom. It rides on a new platform, has new engines and an interior that's considerably more modern than the previous version.

Pros:
  • Sharp handling, frugal yet powerful engines, generous passenger room, class-leading trunk space, excellent audio systems.
Cons:
  • Some turbo lag at lower speeds, not as vaultlike as some of its European competitors, front-wheel drive also a slight disadvantage.

  • Best Car Ever!!!! - 2003 Saab 9-3

Have owned it for a week + Love it! It was the best decision I ever made buying this car. I test drove BMW325 XI (all wheel drive) Jaguar Xtype- This car is so much better looking and more fun to drive.

  • One Month with Vector - 2003 Saab 9-3
    By -

I picked up my Vector last month, it is my first Saab and I it is great. I did a ton of research, narrowed my selection down to the Vector and the G35. After driving each car I knew that the Saab was the clear choice. Amazing acceleration, looks great, and is a blast to drive.

  • Best in its Price range - 2003 Saab 9-3

This is a great car and truly outperforms in terms of quality all other cars in its pricerange. You really have to drive a Saab to fully understand what a great vehicle it is.

  • Great car - 2003 Saab 9-3
    By -

Saab is still making improvments on a great car. Ive always liked Saabs since I owned my first 1987 Saab 900S. I am still impressed with the overall quality of the car and the great handling. To say that GM has ruined Saab is a very misinformed statement. Test drive one and see for yourself. Also, to say that it drives on a Grand Am platform is also inaccurate. More accurately, the Grand Am will be fortunate enough to ride on a Saab platform. Lucky for Pontiac since this car handles superbly and Grand Ams handling leave much to be desired. I would know since thats what I traded in for this Saab.

  • Its the Best Value Used Car out there - 2003 Saab 9-3
    By -

Its no secret that Saabs dont hold there value. I bought a one year old Vector that MSRP for $38,400 for $23,500 from the local Saab dealer with 10,000 miles. I now have 75,000 miles and it still looks like new. I get 32mpg around town and 37mpg on a trip the 4 cly. Turbo has as much get up and go as any V6 out there. So far I have only replace the front brake pads and tires other than that its been 100% perfect. I highly recomend this car.

  • Lovin It - 2003 Saab 9-3

Had the car about 3 months now and love it more and more each passing day. It is great fun to drive, terrific handling and response. What a beast for a 4 cyl engine, it is giving me about 23 mpg city driving!!

  • 2003 Linear - 2003 Saab 9-3
    By -

I have owned every car imaginable from BMWs to VWs and have never before owned a Saab. I was drawn to the cars looks and ammenities. The overall performance is better than expected from a 175 hp turbo 4 cyl and handling is excellent for a front driver. I really enjoy the car and suggest that anyone looking for a sport sedar consider this car. I recently attended the Saab sponsored Proving Ground where the 9-3 is pitted against, a BMW 325, M-B C230, Audi A-4, and a Volvo S70. After driving the Linear, Arc and Vector as well as a 9-2 convertible I was impressed at how well it stood up to the other vehicles.

  • Never Again - 2003 Saab 9-3

Where do I begin? My "latest" issue is that although the electrical system is working, the car wont start! The Saab mechanic informs me that it "may" be the started, but maybe not. He can replace it for $700+, but if its not the problem, Im out the money! The leather seats are worn out. The fan for the a/c stays on for an extra 15 minutes after I shut off the car. The car rattles way too much. The seals on the back window are coming off. Oh, and the motor for the passenger seat is gone and now starting to go on the drivers side as well. They inform me that the motor is over $700! I can easily say that I will not buy a Saab OR a GM auto ever again. Havent met many happy Saab owners lately.

Second 9 3 convertible Ive owned and just love it. Have had it all out in the twisties with the top down and its great fun. Always have people asking about it. Great car. Have had some minor trouble with the new one getting steering to track straight, both otherwise a great, tight , comfortable car.
