This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 9-3 is an all-new design from top to bottom. It rides on a new platform, has new engines and an interior that's considerably more modern than the previous version.

Pros:
  • Sharp handling, frugal yet powerful engines, generous passenger room, class-leading trunk space, excellent audio systems.
Cons:
  • Some turbo lag at lower speeds, not as vaultlike as some of its European competitors, front-wheel drive also a slight disadvantage.

We are very happy with our New Saab. It is a perfect entry level luxury sedan for the money. Solid handeling quiet cabin a joy to drive. Test drove and researched dozens of other cars and when we test drove this one we knew right away this was the car for us! People who test drive a Saab usually buy one. This will not be our last Saab.

I bought the 2003 9-3 for almost $5000 below MSRP because the dealer was in a hurry to get rid off the 2003 models to make room for the 2004s. Four weeks into the ownership, I love this car - It is fun to drive, gets excellent gas mileage, and looks cool. The brakes are phenomenal and features galore. If you are considering a car in the 25 - 30K range, this car should be at the top of your shopping list.

This car is a dream come true. The performance, the handling, the breaking, the comfort is just as it looks when you look at the prospectus in the dealership. There is no turbo leg, acceleration is great, really roomy, I love the dashboard and the night time feature. Most notably this car is sexy - oh yes it is. It is slick, classy, and sporty. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking performance, comfort, and most importantly safety. The side airbags and a whole lot of room around me makes it a very safe car.

First Saab I ever owned. Love the styling, interior, engine. I do a lot of highway driving and this 4 cylinder car hauls ass. I can run 80-90 and still get 25mpg, brakes very well, launch option has moon roof, lights, ect. So far very impressed.

  • Great new Saab 9-3 - 2003 Saab 9-3

I traded my old 1997 900S Turbo for a 2003 9-3 last week and I am very happy with this car. I did my homework on this car and compared to a handful of other (Audi A4, BMW 320, Subura Legacy GT, Honda Accord). After driving them all and comparing value for money, the Saab 9-3 came in 1st place. The new 9-3 is a great car overall. Compared to my old Saab, they have improved the car in almost every way. I cant notice any turbo lag. My car has the upgraded sport tire package - looks great and really hugs the road. I love the fact that the 9-3 is unique out there in a sea of Acura, BMW and Audi vehicles.

  • Will blow you away - 2003 Saab 9-3

All of my friends have owned Saabs in the past. Ive driven the old 9-3, the 02 9-5, the Audi A4 and the 330i. None of these cars can match the excitement of driving the 9-3 Vector. Sexy design, awesome handling, tremendous mileage and incredibly enhanced pickup and speed, this car is nothing but fun to drive. The car will blow anything else in its class out of the water. Good looks..awesome ride...head turner...its value far exceeds its price...you cant go wrong with the Vector. Truly amazing work by Saab.

My first SAAB, definitely not the last. As I get the GM discount the options were the 93 and the Caddy CTS. The 93 is clearly the better choice. The drive from Columbus OH to northern Michigan was the most fun Ive ever had on a 6 hour drive. The 2 lane blacktops in MI are a blast with this car. I dont see any turbo lag and the 6 speed is the way to go. There is enough acceleration to push you back into your seat. The fit and finish are exceptional. Im hooked!

  • Excellent SAAB! - 2003 Saab 9-3

I’ve had my 9-3 Linear with the “launch package” (inc 16" wheels with Pirelli P6s) for about a week and I like it more with every drive. I had a 2000 9-3 convertible and this is such a fundamentally different car: outstanding handling (sans the awful torque steer of the old car), excellent turbo boosted acceleration, nice redesign on the interior, top- notch fit and finish, loaded with technology, and handsome looks. With the incredible financial incentives offered by SAAB, one has to consider this car. Despite what some of the “old guard” thinks, this car is true to the SAAB tradition of building incredibly safe, well-built cars that are fun to drive.
