Overview & Reviews
The Audio Fanatic package gains a six-disc CD changer this year, and some interior trim has been revised. The 2.5 S model has been dropped.
- Speedy SE-R models, nimble handling, lots of standard features, simple controls.
- Noisy ride, uncomfortable front seats, extremely tight legroom in back, some low-grade interior materials, poor side-impact crash test score.

Not as good as I would expect - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Brian - July 30 - 6:00 pmI got a good deal on this car but I still expected more. The transmission seems to be slipping already when getting out of first. The trunk release works any time so what is the valet key for? MPG I get about 26-30 on the average. My M3 gets 22-26 so to me it is not that much better. Also the remote locks stop working from time to time. Have to go through the steering wheel to get to the trip computer. Should have bought a Civic which has a cheaper true cost to own if you sell it after 3 years.

Fun when it works, never again though - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By SeanJ - May 3 - 3:43 pmThis car had 11,900 miles when I purchased it and was like new. It was great when it was working but I have had a multitude of problems and issues. It wont crank easily after the engine has been warmed up, it turns over and over forever before starting. Dealer fixed it once but its doing it again and now its not under warranty. The crankshaft sensor has gone bad and is a listed recall but Nissan says my VIN wasnt affected, obviously. Now the car wants to turn off while driving. It consumes oil like crazy, have to add oil in between changes. Fun to drive when its working but not worth the headache. Nissan doesnt honor anything, steer clear.

Not too bad - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By BMH - February 26 - 1:36 amGot this car with 14k on it in 06 and has over 60k now. Gas milage is far better than factory sticker. Being 63", this car is way small. The cup holders are worthless. The ride is ok, very noisy. Doesnt like to start on first try some times or it starts and dies. Have an on going issue with the plug for the mass air flow sensor. Keeps getting dusty and then the car through an engine code and wont drive, have to blow out the plug to get it to run. Performance is poor, I had an 88 Honda Accord that had a better ride and more pep then this car.

Look at as many reviews as possible - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Justin - December 25 - 5:13 amAs another so perfectly wrote, there is good reason why this car sells so cheap. Mine came off the lot, complete with warped front disks and lightbulbs falling from underneath the dash. How does a car come from the factory with warped rotors? More recently, Ive waited a month and a half for a broken shock to be replaced, which has been just enough time for the rear defroster to stop working and the serpentine belt to start squealing (I hope thats all it is) Be wise, dont fall for all the extras and low price. Its truly not worth the poor components, build quality, and service from Nissan. Pay the extra several thousand for a toyota or honda, you wont regret it!

Inexpensive but built cheaply... - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By Mark Davis - February 16 - 1:50 pmI own a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S Special Edition Pkg. I bought this car for $13,500 and there are obvious reasons why this car is priced under its competition. Although there are many features, build quality is suspect, the 1.8L engine is anemic and the suspension archaic. The seats are poorly designed and very uncomfortable if driving in excess of one-hour. The car does acheive respectable mileage and has a Rockford Fosgate 6 CD changer w/ 9 speakers. Power windows, power mirrors and an alarm system are included. This is an ideal car for a college student or someone on an extremely limited income. I would recommend driving a Honda Civic, Mazda 3 or Toyota Corolla before deciding.

Hope you dont mind replacing rims - 2006 Nissan Sentra
By lecount630 - May 27 - 8:26 amIn the last two years I have spent $1100 to replace tires and rims. I bought two of these vehicles to save on fuel. The alloy rims and Firehawk tires are unfit for the road. I have replaced three rims and tires due to damage from normal driving, and recently found out a fourth needs to be replaced. I have owned 5 Sentras. These will be my last.
