  • Overall a Very Classy and Reliable SUV - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

The bodys bold, classy, and muscular lines as well as the very well appointed and up-scale interior are like no other SUV and really attracted us. We went Nissan again for the third time!! The power, comfort, and handling are great. This SUV has great materials as well as fit and finish. After 28000 very hard miles the only problem to date is that the rear drum brakes squeal when cold. An easy fix. The gas mileage is about average but the tank should be a little bigger for more range. The rear seat is a little cramped for 6- footers. Great otherwise. Rear storage is good. If you want a classy but reliable SUV pick this one!!!

  • Better mileage and it would be perfect - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I bought it used with 15,000 miles and have been very pleased with it other than the gas mileage. The CD changer refuses to eject my discs (still need to have that fixed). Another review mentioned an annoying rattle from the defrost vents on the dash, and I have that as well. I also had a clogged a/c drain tube which caused a major water leak on the passenger floor board. Nissan will fix this design problem on 2005+ models, but I had to pay a little to have them clear the drain. Everything else mechanical has been great so far at 55,000 miles. The jack with the vehicle is terrible. I found it unstable and dangerous to use when changing a tire on the side of the highway.

  • The Great White Path - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder

This is my second Nissan Pathfinder and I love this vehicle. The drive is smooth, the ride is fun and it satisfies my urge to rule the road in style. It runs our of gas too fast but thats because Texas is so big and I love visitng all the malls in the area. I would recommend this car to singles and especially working moms. Thanks

  • Paint peeling - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Upgraded to Nissan at the encouragement of my husband. Have owned since the end of December 2004. Great acceleration and performance. No longer have to stop several times during trips to stretch as the comfort level is very good. Downside is Contacted Nissan regarding Paint peeling but it is not considered under warranty.

  • My Pathfinder,a joy to drive - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

My new Pathfinder is a real joy to drive,Its tight, tough and very responsive. Yet its smooth, quiet and comfortable. I can sense that this little SUV is very well built. I was looking for a good all around vehicle when I found this little prize and I couldnt be happier!

  • Still love this vehicle - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder

This is my 2nd Pathfinder (1st was an 02 model.) Had to trade in due to vehicle having 97,000 miles after 2 years. But, had no problems at all, just traded in due to mileage! I love how open this vehicle is and how easy it is to see around me. It drives like a car, not like a truck as so many SUVs do. My only complaints are the size of the back seat & doors (very difficult to hoist a 30 lb child into his car seat) and head room (my 66" & 67" brothers do not like to ride in my vehicle.) Otherwise, awesome SUV. There is a reason I got another one!!!

  • Speedometer NOT work at 55+mph - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

After one month I bought the car, the speedometer does not work when speed at 55mph and above. The dealer said that the Unified Processor needs to replace. However, the part in back order is still not available since Sept. 20. I called Nissan about this and they said they would do something for me and would call me back, but they never did. Their cars are bad. Their customer services are bad. Another minor problem is that the driver seat makes noise when turning. I will never buy Nissan again! Hope your car is good.

  • So far, so good! - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

This is my second Nissan - my last vehicle was an Xterra and we were looking for a bit more room and towing capacity. My husband didnt particularly like the looks of the Pathfinder (though I like it a lot!), but it was a great deal since the new 05 models are arriving and dealers are working to get the 04s off their lots. My Xterra was very reliable and fun to drive, and the Pathfinder is the same, but with more power and comfort features. We tow our motorcycles to local race-tracks and look forward to the added power. If the 4-wheel drive system is as effective as the one on my Xterra, it should be great to drive in the snowy mountains this winter when we go snowboarding.

  • Best SUV - 2004 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Seriously, I know people buy SUVs for a lot of different reasons, but as far as bang for the buck, I think the Pathfinder is by far the best buy. Its got a pretty powerful v6, great torque. The SE model I have has a nice little roar to the v6. Decent acceleration, great power. The 4x4 has great power. I crossed a snow covered medium going 60 miles/hr on 4x4 high, passing a slow car, like it was nothing, with no loss of control whatsoever. Its great in bad weather. Very reliable car. Maintenance and maintenance costs are minimal. Decent gas mileage for a high performance suv. Fun car. I love the look of it, and am sad about more boxy bulky look on the new models.
