I bought this car new in 2000 and have had it ever since. I came close to trading it in several times...Thank God I didnt. Till this day, it runs great, sounds great and looks great. Very minimal scratches, mostly because I dont mind hiking it across the parking lot to get to the store. Other then your basic wear & tear and routine maintenance, Ive had zero problems. Without question, the best vehicle Ive ever owned. The most expensive service I had was an oil leak from a seal that needed to be replaced between the engine and transmission (not sure what its called). That bill came in around $550 mostly because of the labor. Ill keep this car till it dies, its a keeper!

I bought my Pathfinder for $1,200 last year with a little over 200,000 KMs on it. Since then Ive gotten it a fresh safety, new ball joints, inner and outer CV boots, transmission flush, new control arms, new gas tank and filler neck (last owner never washed the damn thing and my tank rusted out) new battery and other regular upkeeps like oil changes ect. Now all she needs is front end axles and struts and itll be like new. I got over 245,000 KMs on it now and still drives mint. Lots of power when I pass on the highway, great handling. No complaints other then I wish it had another gear!!! Revs high and sucks all my gas if I go over 110km lol. But overall awesome and I love it :)

  • Great second car. Poor Gas mileage - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

  • Practical and Reliable - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

Bought the 00 Pathfinder SE with 35K miles. It currently has 98K and the only major work performed was replacing the AC compressor. That cost about $1050. This little SUV just runs, runs and runs and I am planning to keep it for another 100K miles. Only drawback would be gas mileage but what SUV doesnt use up gas? At 98K miles, I am getting about 15 miles around the city and 19-20 miles on the highway. Overall, this little truck has been so reliable I have no choice but to keep it. Just make sure you do the reg. oil changes and chang the transmission fluid every 35K miles and rotate your tires every 10K. I feel the truck will go another 100K miles.

All-around a very good SUV. Good value for superior reliability. Reasonable to maintain.

  • Love It... Annoyed With It - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Very comfortable SUV with wide, roomy interior. Have had problems with drivers seat adjustments (which they seem to be unable to correct). I feel that it is a safety issue. Also some minor leaking of sunroof when it rains right after time of intense sun exposure (normal in Florida). Very quiet when sunroof open. Maroone Nissan in Miami has been horrible from the start. I do not recommend them. Nissan, on the other hand, seems to really care about customer satisfaction. I would buy one again.

  • Going Strong - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

My 2000 Pathfinder is now 4 years old and going strong. I only have 33,000 miles on it, but use it daily and havent had any problems. Quality is excellent. Like others, my only complaint is the lack of power and fuel economy. Before this model I had a 1997 Pathfinder and it was underpowered as well, but perhaps even more so. Although Im not in the market for a new car (I loathe the thought of spending $30k for a car) Id buy another Pathfinder in a minute.

  • Bulletproof - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

In 8 years of ownership, the only major repair was the replacement of the ignition key switch after 3 years. Other than that, just tires, oil, etc. Performance is OK, fuel economy is fair, interior is nice, driving position is excellent, AC held up well during 7 TX summers. This truck is bulletproof.

  • Still Going Strong at 171K. - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

Purchased this car in Oct. 1999, and its a very good car to my family of 4. In the past 10 years I havent got any issues to the engine. The original parts still in the engine such as timing belt or chain, sparks plugs, all the belts, air conditioning unit, fluid, ect. The only parts that have replaced is suspension on the front/back, tires, front brake, oil change every 7-10k, and air filter every 25k. The passenger window wouldnt work about 5 years now, but who cares! Currently the trade-in value for my car is $1600. Therefore, I wouldnt pass up on the cash clunkers deal, and hopefully my new 2010 Honda Pilot have a same performance like this car.
