This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • Mixed Bag -- Ya Love It Or Ya Hate It - 2003 Nissan Murano

Well, its a great substitute for a station wagon. The CVT takes some getting use to. Its a lot peppier in Ds mode. Although, Id rather have a regular automatic and more road feel. Fits in parking spaces, carries people, has so-so styling and the dealers are a mixed bag. I dont know, I get the feeling they could have done better.

Beautiful design, fun to driving, good performance in city or freeway; excellent performance driving in heavy rain conditions. Interesting interior and exterior design, great features. Poor left back and back visibility, Interior seats does not provide with an arm rest.

  • Murano falls short on handling - 2003 Nissan Murano
    By -

The Nissan Murano, mine now with 7,000 miles. Great highway mieage 25mpg, terrible in the city 14-15 mpg, slugish ingine for a dead stop. Poor handling especially from my last SUV the BMW X-5. Very comfortable for long ride with pleanty of interior room if you dont need a third road. For the money, you get what you paid for and more.

I like the handling, comfort, speed, roominess, vision and intimidation factor. It gets RESPECT. Also, I feel safe driving it.

The Nissan Murano is a luxury vehicle not an Suv. It is a pleasure to drive and a fun vehicle.

  • Solid Entry in Crossover Market - 2003 Nissan Murano

I chose the Murano over the Honda Pilot primarily b/c of the fun factor. It has great pick-up and curb appeal. Excellent execution by Nissan. I chose this over an 04 Maxima (and I love driving a six speed!).

  • First SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

My very first SUV - wanted cool style and interior - and all the "bells & whistles" - got it with this vehicle - drives like a car - handles excellent - like everything about it - and feel it is not a "typical" SUV - but functions like one.
