  • Worst Car EVER - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Purchased this car new in March 2010. C300 sport 4matic non-NAV. I must admit I did not do my research before buying, and purchased the car because I have always wanted a new Mercedes. What a mistake. Car looks awesome sitting still. Very well built. WHAT IS WRONG: 1) the turn signal is about 4 inches lower than any other car. Cruise control stalk is where the turn signal stalk SHOULD BE. Also, you cant see the wiper control without stuffing your head under/behind the steering wheel to take a look. 2) the radio controls are useless. there is a cool dial on the center console but it sucks. 4 different ways to change the radio station.. and if the stupid looking visor

Extremely solid and seems to be very well built. Great looking especially with the AMG wheels. Interior function is very well thought out. Very solid performer with the sport package. Very new so need more time with the car.

Wanting to consolidate from an LR3 and a Lexus IS RWD into one AWD sedan (and one payment), I set my sights on Infiniti, Audi, Lexus and BMW. I was unimpressed with the ergonomics of the G37x, even though I used to own a G35 and loved it. I headed over to the BMW/Merc dealership and happened upon the C300. I was immediately taken in by the aggressive stance of the front end. I was skeptical about the sub-230 HP until I drove it. It has plenty of pickup (compared to my IS250) and handles very well. I bought it on the spot - never even got around to driving the BMW or Audi. The CC stalk was awkward at first, but is easily accessible, and can be manipulated by one finger on my driving hand.

  • STOP: Do NOT buy this car - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

After a decade of buying BMW 3 Series, I made a major mistake with an end-of- year lease of a C300. This car is "sport" in name only! (Well, okay, it _looks_ sporty too, but thats as far as it goes.) What a joke--the only way you can maintain any cornering grip is by bracing yourself against the door or the console. Steering and other controls: a mess. Its very easy to see why BMW outsells this poser. I got it on a lark after I found that the latest BMWs have no place to plug in a Valentine 1 radar detector, and I found out they were giving the MBZs away: $770 to start; $444/month (3 years). NOW I know why it was so cheap.... Please learn from me: do NOT buy this car!

  • Great used car with low entry for a classy brand - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought my 2010 C300 used. I had driven maybe 10 different examples over several months. I had done copious research. What I found was the C. class overall 2008-present are very sturdy and reliable cars. I was a little uncomfortable with the lower mpg, but I have found on longer trips I can get in the 30s, which is OK with me. And in town is in the high teens (18-19) which is also ok. With my old car I had gotten 21 and 33. But it was a Saab turbo (the fun model engine) and repairs had finally gotten the better of me. So I found this 300, looked like mint condition, 61k miles, nav, memory seats, basically everything youd want. Its been a great car, no problems at all. One thing to consider is the audio. The cars dont come with streaming bluetooth. But there are low cost options to connect all sorts of music and files in all sorts of ways. I got a PCMCIA card for the dash slot, with 32gb drive, an auxiliary for the glove box media interface, and a Bluetooth device that connects with zero effort to the media interface. And if you are waiting for the wife or other , sitting in your car with the nav system you can watch DVD on the nave screen with the video systemusic built in. Its really a cool car, relatively low maintenance, and the ride is rock steady at high speed.

  • very happy so far - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Solid ride that keeps getting more enjoyable. Car could use a little more power but looked at many vehicles and felt like the price and equipment were put this car above others. The amg wheel package makes the exterior of the car.

  • Solid small luxury car - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The car reviews seem to dismiss this model as a car not really for car lovers, but I really enjoy driving it. This car has strong acceleration, an excellent crisp transmission, amazing brakes, and the Michelin tires grip the road very well. The steering is light and precise, with just enough road feel. The suspension, even in the lux model, is as firm as I would want in a daily driver. With the premium package and multimedia package, this car addresses my every need and delights with its many thoughtful features. Every piece of this car feels quality, and the doors shut with a solid thunk.

  • Compact interior but WOW - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I bought this car to replace an ALTIMA 2.5S. Interior is small with but this car is nothing like any that I have owned, everything is tight, pickup is superb, it drives and handles like a turbo charged sports car. Its a lot of fun to drive, only if it had a few more inches to recline the front seat.

  • Be carefull - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Purchased in Dec09 was finally delivered Feb10 but NOT AS SPECIFIED, no HK stereo, no iPod interface, no 5-spoke rims. Dealer Automotriz Stuttgart refuses any adjustment. After only 2,400 miles the paint had flaked off the hood medallion, seats are horribly wrinkled, Bluetooth faulty, Stereo 20 system so distorted it is unusable besides missing a speaker. Worst is performance, takes a full 2-3 seconds after accelerator is fully depressed to get ANY reaction from the engine. When purchasing, make sure you take YOUR C class out for an extensive test drive and QC check BEFORE signing, as many MB dealers are famous to send their customers to hell after taking your money. Buyer beware.

  • Sorry; Lincoln and Caddy - 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I wanted to replace my Jaguar X-type with a Lincoln MKZ or Caddy CTS. The CTS was cramped and the MKZ , the spiritual successor to the X-type, is a major letdown, showing its economy car roots. On a whim, I stopped into Mercedes dealer and drove the C300. The Quartz blue color is stunning: it makes the car. The seats and driving position are most comfortable, the ride just super smooth, the steering sharp and defined, and the technology unbelievable. Mercedes puts money into the structure, not the bells and whistles. It is the most relaxed drive ever, and the insurance is actually less than the Jaguar. I wanted to buy American, but the Mercedes is sooo good.
