  • Two Thumbs Up - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Better quality than previous model years. When sitting in the drivers seat you feel safe and secure. Drives and handles exceptionaly well. Dials and gauges well thought out and positioned in the cabin so you can see them easily.

  • Little pricey, but its a Benz. - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

First off, this is my first new car that I have bought ever. The monthly payments got me depressed at first but as Ive been driving it and taking care of it, Ive come to love this car. Ive had it for a year and a half a no real problems. The interior is beautiful, even for a C-class. To me, nothing says luxury like a Mercedes so if you want the finer things in life for under 40K, this is a pretty good place to go to. Will admit, if you are looking for a car on driving performance, this is not the car for you. If you want class, then check it out.

  • Disappointed in my first MB - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I had always wanted a Mercedes and was very excited when we bought this car brand new last year. Unfortunately, it hasnt been all that I had dreamed of. It is useless in snow/ice -- last year I learned that lesson the hard way with <1" of snow. Our other three vehicles (not MB) were fine with that tiny bit of snow, but not the MB. It also recently stopped dead in the middle of a busy road with me and my little boy in it. It has been at the dealership since last week and they cant get any error codes, so they have no idea whats wrong with it. I am very disappointed in this car and am thinking about selling it because I dont feel safe in it any longer. It only has 7500 miles on it!

  • 07 C230 Sport - Great little car - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Love this machine, traded my 99 C280 for it which had 130,000 miles and had been bullet proof. This one I got certified pre-owned with 20,000 miles. Its been excellent so far. Only thing I would have liked 60/40 split rear seat and bigger better room for entering the car for rear seat passengers and coming from the C280 3L engine, I did feel the small lack of oumph the 20hp or so drop made to the 2.5L... other that that, sweet car. Pros are the suspension, seats, great 7 spd auto transmission and silky smooth ride, not too rough for type of wheels. Fit and Finish is still top- notch. Paint is ok but it does have some orange peel..car is black so LIQUID GLASS is only way to polish!!

  • 2007 Mercedes C230 Great Buy - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Great over all vehicle. Impressive spunk for such a small motor. Excellent fit and finish. Cant beat European automakers.

  • Good Looks. Lacks Interior Features - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Wife and I love the looks. In comparison, I wanted the Acura TL which has more ponies, better leather and interior creature features. Wife loved it more than me. Imagine a $38K car without full power passenger seats. The seat/mirror/steering wheel memory is poorly designed. Instead of just pressing a button, you have to hold it in to change from one setting to another. Also, its not activated from the remote key. No compass. The steering wheel controls for the radio and readouts are confusing and not user friendly at all. Im in a 2yr lease and cant wait for it to expire. Better choices Lexus I250 or Acura TL or yet BMW330I

  • Excellent Bargain for a great dependable and good looking car ! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

07 auto c230 , Obtained Ownership 59k in Oct. 2009 The carfax was clean, trans. replaced at 49k by MB. I took the car and was impressed for a 2.5L that it had some performance. I am aware of the balance shaft problem. I had a build date of SEPT 07, so I was in the clear. The transmission shifted smooth and responsive. I always changed the oil with Mobil Synthetic 0W-40. Solid suspension, smooth car, felt safe. Very comfortable car even on long and short drives. I would get about 17city, 33hwy and always filled it with 93 Octane. Lost it during Hurricane Sandy with 84k. Let me just clarify if you maintain the car with a good quality of gas and oil you shouldnt have issues.

  • Mercedes name, but not quality - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I bought my Mercedes C230 in April 2007 and thought it would be a great car due to the Mercedes name. I was wrong. The car has lackluster power, very cramped inside, cant rotate tires, oil changes cost $200+, and just not the quality that Mercedes use to have. Recently traded it in on a Chevy Silverado and was informed that Mercedes also has not so great resale value compared to BMW.

  • Major defect with Mercedes engine components - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

The overall reliability for the 2006-2007 W203s is excellent until you encounter failure of the balance shaft gear. My father owns the 2006 model, and the component failures that he experienced with his car are now mirrored at precisely the same mileage on mine. 1) The thermostat valve tends to fail after around 100,000 km. 2) More importantly, the balance shaft gear fails after around 130-140,000 km. This is a MAJOR DEFECT that MB declines to recall. Essentially the gear wears out prematurely, and if not replaced, the engine will eventually fail. The repair cost is $5-6,000. As a consumer, this is unacceptable. Shame on Mercedes-Benz.

  • Happy So Far - 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I bought my C230 Sport off lease, with 19,700 miles on it. So far, I love this car! I have never owned a car that handles as well as the C230 does. There is almost none of the "leaning" effect during sharp higher speed turns. I am not sure if this is due to the suspension or the sport tires, but it is great fun to drive. Having driven the car through a Minnesota winter, I would definitely advise buying snow tires. I didnt and some of my snow day commutes were more exciting than I would have wanted. Other reviewers have indicated that snow tires will make difference. I plan to purchase snow tires next year.
