dont do it - 2006 Mazda Tribute
By gail - May 4 - 3:50 pmTo all viewers on this web site. I bought a Mazda Tribute 04/02 for a graduation gift for my daughter (her choice) we have had nothing but TROUBLE from day 1. We have had it in for service more than i can say for air bag trouble. they cant seem to fix. I am trying to have mazda buy it back with no luck they say there is nothing wrong but if the air bag light is on the air bag will NOT deploy i have had it in for recalls 3 times when i complain the dealer says nothing the vehicle gets 8 to 10 miles per gallon they will tell me thats not bad when it should get 18 to 22 or so the dealer has changed people is the service so no one can say a thing so if you want a good car dont buy mazda

Poor Gas Mileage -nothing to do about it - 2006 Mazda Tribute
By wynn003 - February 6 - 5:53 pmIll just list the bad stuff (Im sure youve read enough good stuff so I need to balance it). I replaced a 1993 V6 Navajo that does 15 MPG. Now sticker says 22-26MPG on this tribute. I drive both so Im hoping maybe 24MPG, but would be ok with 22MPG since its more in the city. Guess what I get? 16-17MPG!!! Ive told this to the dealer and all I keep getting from them is that its right, that they (Mazda) are revamping the whole mileage rating because its not accurate. !??!? Why not just list the right one? I got a 13 yr old newer car to get 1 MPG more? I dont even drive aggressively anymore. On top of that, when I accelerate from a stop sign, I can feel a thud in the gear.

Who says Ford Cannot Build a Quality Vehicle - 2006 Mazda Tribute
By Mel - January 2 - 10:23 pmLets face it - this is a Ford with a little flare. Most of the Mazda lineup - why cant Ford go in this direction? This is my first SUV. My Mom has an Escape, Dad has an Escape, and buddy has one as well. My Tribute stands out, as well is more stylish on the inside, as well as the outside. My neighbor has a CRV; this performs circles around his, gets as good as fuel mileage, is bigger inside, and cost much less. I paid new $18k with the rebates, auto show cash, and dealer discount. Although his is AWD (which I didnt need due to where we live and hinders mpg -- Honda does not offer without). This is a little pocket Rocket and great for hauling my newborn.
