This Year's Model Updates:

Coming off a complete redesign just last year, the 2010 Mazda 6 sees little in the way of change. A new optional audio and Bluetooth display debuts, as does a new Touring Plus trim level. Features have also been shuffled among trim levels to lower the vehicle's base price.

Pros:
  • Roomy cabin, big trunk, muscular performance from V6, smooth automatic transmissions, relatively sporty handling.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, some cheap interior materials.

Had the car about a month --major complaint is the pick up -could be better. If you have the extra $$$ go for the bigger engine --other than that, it is an excellent car so far

  • Nice, Fun to drive - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Have had the car since 11/09 and still get excited to hop in and go for a drive. There was one comment on road noise below, which it has some of but, much less than the new Accord we test drove. Getting about 23 MPG mixed. Great response when stepping on the gas and wanting to pass, dart, or just show off.

  • Fun, but no 30 mpg! - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

I traded my Altima 3.5L for this car, hoping to get better gas mileage. I havent done better than 25.4 mpg yet, 2.5 years later. And, it does not have the zoom of a 6 cylinder (obviously). That being said, it is fun to drive, roomy, and a good-looking car. I did have to have new brakes & rotors at 30K- seemed a little soon for that! 10,000 miles later, brakes were sticking so that the rear wheel would overheat. Other minor issues- A/C is weak and stock stereo sucks. But for the most part, a good value for the price.

Just bought the car over the weekend. We looked at about a dozen in this category and went with the Mazda. So far we really like all the options, BlueTooth, Nav, Sirius etc.

I was looking for a passenger car that had style, power and handling the Mazda 6 fit the bill nicely. The power from the V6 engine is fantastic, roomy trunk and very good rear leg room. I got it fully loaded with the Technology and Navigation package. A Highlight is blind side monitoring which is very useful. You owe it to yourself to take this car for a test drive before settling on the other popular brands.

Bought it brand new in Sept. 2010. I drive this car on daily basis to work and around town. Made 35K and no issues so far. Oil changes on time and just keeping it clean. Brakes still in great condition as well as tires.Nothing to complain about.I wish I bought a 6 cylinder version to get more kick from it , but 4 cylinder motor still will get the job done.Im getting 25.3 mpg driving in both conditions ( highway and streets). At some points ,on a highway driving at 65 mph , it gives me close to 40mpg.Car still loks great. I wash it myself , trying to avoid car washes , first , too expensive , secondly , hand washing doest destroy your paint.

  • Good car for the price - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Traded into the 6 out of a Saturn Aura XE coming off lease. The Mazda6 is my favorite in class this year due to its styling, interior space and price. It drives very well. I like a sportier feel than the cushiness of the Camry, and I hate CVTs (Altima and Legacy). The 4cyl engine does better than I thought it would, but you definitely notice the step down if coming from a V6, like me. My black cloth interior is kind of a lint trap, it seems -- the velour really shows anything that sticks to it. Comfortable, though. I am noticing a handful of little touches that the Mazda does not have, compared to the base Saturn that I leased in 2007. For the price, though, I am happy with the car.

  • one of the best in its class - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

Bought the beautiful car a month ago. Cannot say anything about the long term reliability, so it is purely a guess. Nothing breaks yet. Safety is paramount to us. Mazda6 has the best safety rating by NHTSA. This trim line also comes with a nifty blind spot motoring system. Plus a whole host of other safety features, which makes it stand out. Looks great inside and outside. Love the handling quality. In fact, eager to sit behind the wheel in this car! Ride is firm and supple. Wish it can absorb bumps little better though. The engine is a little hesitant when you really need to zoom zoom zoom on a highway entrance ramp.

  • Fun car to drive - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

This is a fun car to drive. It handles well and has a sports-car feel, except its a sedan. The steering wheel blocks the view of the top of the gauges, and theres an annoying sloshing sound (from fuel tank) when stopping and starting when tank is full. The car feels solid and few vehicles can compete with it in styling. In fact, its sleek design makes appear smaller than others in its class, but its actually longer than most.

  • Not so Zoom-Zoom - 2010 Mazda Mazda6

I got this car yesterday. Car is pretty big but for this size of car an I-4, 170HP is not enough. Im sure this car will be a lot of fun with V6 240+ HP in touring trim. Car is not alot of fun to drive. When you accelerate it, it feels like car is working hard. Interior is good but there is generous use of hard plastic that doesnt suit a 20K car. Exterior is dashing Overall I might not go for an I-4 170HP for this size of car in the future
