This Year's Model Updates:

Kia joins the minivan rumble with the introduction of the Sedona, the lowest-priced minivan in America. Standard on the Sedona are such niceties as air conditioning, power windows, cruise control and auto on/off headlights. Upscale EX models get a CD player, interior wood trim and power front seats. All Sedonas benefit from Kia's impressive Long Haul Warranty with drivetrain protection for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Pros:
  • Unbeatable price, attractive array of standard goodies, great warranty package.
Cons:
  • Missing some key minivan features, engine could use more power.

  • This car is Unreal - 2002 Kia Sedona

This car is unbelievable for the price. We have had this car for almost a month and we love it. My wife drives it the most, but if I didnt work at a chemical plant I would drive it all the time. I am a large individual and the seat are comfortable and roomy. My kids love the easy access and once I put the T.V. in they may not leave the van. The sound system is great. I agree with the one reviewer that there is a rattling noise that comes from the third seat but I think its from the heat rest or not being locked in completely. The magic seat is great, but for $5000 dollars more I can do without it.

I researched the minivan market for months, and there is nothing that even comes close to what you get from KIA. I saved thousands, and got every feature standard on the LX that others wanted big dollars for. On top of all the standard features, I got the security of the 10 yr 100,000 mi warranty. That was key for me, because if Im going to drop $20,000 I want security that after 3 years the dealer will stand by any potential problems I may incur. KIA must be very confident in their product because of the warranty that noone else comes close to matching.

  • 140,000 miles and still going strong! - 2002 Kia Sedona

We bought our Sedona new in 2002. It was a daily driver while the kids were in car seats, now its our road-trip and weekend car. We bought one of the first ones that came off the boat, and it had all the problems the reviewers said it would have. The good news is, when those faulty parts failed it was covered under warranty and they were replaced with improved parts. I was pleased that Kia had redesigned the faulty parts (not all auto makers do this), and we have had zero problems with the replacement parts. We had thought we would buy a new(er) van, but after looking at the options, we decided to keep the old one a while longer. Its that good!

  • New Sedona for family of five - 2002 Kia Sedona

My husband and I just bought a Kia Sedona EXb(2002) with ABS,leather,two- tone(black/BR.Platinum),homelink,and rear spoiler. We paid 22449 before taxes. The van is gorgeous and functional especially for a family with a five yr old, a three yr. old, and a 10 month old. And a dog. We look forward to traveling many miles in our van and plan God willing to keep it until its 100000 mile warranty is gone .

  • Great Vehicle ! - 2002 Kia Sedona

This is a great vehicle. Priced well built good and has a great warranty. Check out the safety ratings...reconsider that Windstar with the swaying suspension and noisy V6. Whoever said this "van" is underpowered is crazy. The 5 speed automatic is smoother and the 3.5L is more responsive than than the Ford or Chrylser product. I am pleased with the new wave of KIAS.

  • Great Mini Van - 2002 Kia Sedona

We were thinking of buying a new van and on the first day out we drove the Kia and signed the papers that evening. I had already gone out on the web and investicated the different vans and prices. The ride and comfort of the Sedona was great and made our decision for us. It was also nice that it had a five star crash rating. Also the factory warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles was a great incentive.

Cant say enough good about it. Bought in FL on trip. Dont like to buy cars away from home. Dealers tend to give better service if bought from them. Will see if KIA like that tomorrow. Have a "stress crack" in windshield. No, not a rock hitting it. Will see if the dealer tries to say road harzard for my insurance company to handle.
