Overview & Reviews
The Kia Optima receives only minor revisions for the 2004 model year. The grille has been revised, 16-inch wheels are now standard on V6 models and the alloy wheels on the EX (last year's SE) have been redesigned. Finally, an in-glass antenna replaces the old power mast style unit from last year, but only on the EX and the LX with the optional cassette/CD audio system.
- Excellent warranty, pleasant highway ride, lots of features for the price.

My Kia review - 2004 Kia Optima
By JaimeC - September 13 - 10:00 amLove this car! Fun to drive, has a very big 4 cylinder. Is very responsive, and drives incrediblly smooth. Very comfortable to drive and ride, and just the right amount of interior room. Very fuel effecient, and sporty. Nice size car that will help you to zip around town with the feeling of a small car, with big room, and looks!

Try Anything Once! - 2004 Kia Optima
By E.D.B. - May 25 - 2:00 amI find that the accutaments included in this vehicle as standard equipment are far more than what seems to be available in any other offering I have run across. I really cannot comment on the gas milage, except to say that I dont believe it will be as high as the published estimates of 32/33mpg city/highway. Overall, this vehicle seems to be an exceptional value.

Forget Naysayers - 2004 Kia Optima
By groovemac - March 26 - 10:00 amI purchased my Kia Optima after doing months of research. I looked at Camrys, Hondas, and Hyundais. When I settled on my Kia I had doubts based on comments I had heard from others about Korean reliability. This by far has been the best car I have owned. The enginer runs so quiet at times I think its not running. The car has all the features I wanted i.e. Infinity Sound totally adjustable driver and passenger seats. Automatic headlights, suroof etc. Great warranty and I payed less than $20,000.

Heating/air conditioning - 2004 Kia Optima
By lvargo - February 11 - 10:00 amDisappointed at the heating/ac system. The auto temp control works well, however, you cannot utilize the lower and upper temp feature together with air or heat. If the a/c is on in the dual mode, the lower vent will blow the temp of the hot air outside and not cool air. Conversely, if heat is on, the top vents will blow the temp of the outside air while the bottom is heat. Sad part is no one can fix it and main hq of Kia has not responded to my inquiries since the problem started in Dec 04! Dealership acknowledges the problem but cant get an answer from Kia on how to fix it either!

great for the$$$ - 2004 Kia Optima
By craig1a1 - December 31 - 10:00 amfor a car in the 20k range this was the nicest i have driven. it has virtually everything needed to make you feel as though it is a car in a higher price range. i have yet to have any mechanical problems and as the car is being broken in it is gaining more power. i was very skeptical when purchasing a car but after driving toyatas, hondas, nissans and many american models, none compared price wise and in features in this price range. i would and have recommended to many people to check this car out, and in the right color people will stop you and ask what kind of car it is!

Great Little Car - 2004 Kia Optima
By Leila - December 11 - 4:53 amI bought this car new in 2004. Aside from a CV axle issue starting around 50K miles, I have had no problems. I have bought tires, replaced the front brakes and done routine maintenance and thats it! She just rolled over 140,000 miles this past weekend and were still rocking along. Im looking forward to my next purchase: the 2011 Sorento.

What A Surprise - 2004 Kia Optima
By riverider - November 13 - 10:00 amI had drove several other cars before deciding on my Kia. It was loaded and under $20000 with the best warranty. I like it a lot, use to drive Nissans before they got to high. I like the V6 a lot, leather was nice to. So for that kind of stuff it would cost several $1000 more to buy a less loaded car.It is easy to park and see out of it.

New Kia Fan - 2004 Kia Optima
By kia4life - November 13 - 10:00 amI bought this car two weeks ago, I never thought I would own a Kia, but now I may never own anything else. This car is great, it has looks and performance. It has been mistaked from anything from a Mercedes to a Lincoln. I am proud to tell people it is a Kia instead. You cant beat this car, I dont even miss my Pontiac Grand Am GT.
