Overview & Reviews
The 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport 4x2's optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine can now be paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and active head restraints are standard across the lineup.
- Low base price, Jeep-lite styling, above-average off-road ability, desirable high-tech options.
- Noisy engines, power-sapping continuously variable transmission (CVT), low-quality interior materials, limited cargo capacity.

Piece of Junk - 2010 Jeep Patriot
By kangrapes - December 6 - 2:00 amI have never been so sorry I purchased a vehicle before. Ive owned dozens of vehicles but this is the worst. I test drove it warmed up and in the summer. When it is cold the CVT transmission jerks, and the engine sounds like my lawn tractor. Interior is cheap and is starting to makes numerous squeaks. Chrysler basically told me,(paraphrasing) that "we know that we cut some corners but we will fix it in future model years". My recommendation get something else.

Not a bad first vehicle but still on the fence... - 2010 Jeep Patriot
By nick_b - March 3 - 4:43 amI purchased the 2.0 lt automatic with CVT and had similar complaints when driving a slow speeds. The transmission does seem to kick when decelerating and re-accelerating around 10-15 MPH. Also, I have less than 10k on it and occasionally have a hesitation when trying to start it up. Cold days around 30-40 degrees seem worst and when parked on any type of hill... The stereo is awesome for the money and the aux input is great to have. Would have appreciated another power outlet but one is alright. Rear suspension is beginning to squeak. The controls for temp are cheap dont always seem to get in the right spot for the setting. For the money, not a bad SUV but feels cheap.
