Jeep Engine - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By JT - March 30 - 2:39 pmI have a new 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with 1200 miles on it. I noticed a noise coming from my engine at a traffic light and I thought it was the car behind me but when I turned the radio down I discovered it was coming from my new Jeep. When you turn the radio down you can here a ticking sound which sounds like a helicopter propeller. Very Annoying for a Brand new Vehicle. I went to the dealership and let the service manager drive it with me and he heard the same noise. Then he asked the mechanic to go with me and he heard the same noise. I had taken it back to the dealership to have them diagnose and they said that it was a Purge Solenoid Valve and they replaced it. But when they called me to pick it up they said that it was still making the noise and probably will stay that way until Jeep comes out with a replacement part or a recall. Really!!! You pay $30,000 for a new Jeep and you get this kind of noise. I have owned a lot of other Vehicles over the years and the Engines have always been quiet with the radio turned down and you did not even know they were running. The Engineers at Jeep need to take a look at this because it is unacceptable in my book and not up to standards. Unless someone likes listening to this noise I guess you will be ok with it. But when you test drive I would listen for this noise before you buy. The Dealer started more of the Jeeps on the lot and they all made this noise and he told me this is the way Jeep has made them. I did call the Jeep Service Center and all they could tell me is that they would make documentation of it. We all know where that is going! Maybe the CEO of Jeep should get in the car with me for a test drive and listen to the noise and see if he likes listening to it. You think they would have discovered this before they came off of the assembly line. Not so Sincerely! Concerned Customer

Stay away - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By Tyler - November 16 - 8:10 pmI bought my Trailhawk with 12 miles on it. It is now around 4,000 miles and I am experiencing issues. When I turn the car on, it says that 4WD is unavailable and that power steering needs to be serviced. I took it to the dealer and they "fixed" it. Sure enough, two days after the service was completed (reset PCM), the same warning came on.

Good, Bad, Ugly - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By Gerald Scott - April 7 - 12:11 pmI took my first long trip in my new 2016 Cherokee Sport. First the Good. Gas mileage as stated on the sticker was the gas mileage I got. The comfort was good, not great. Thats it. Nothing else good about this vehicle. Second: The Bad. Do they make shocks for this vehicle? I could feel every bump and crack in the road. On the highway you felt like you were constantly going over speed bumps. The radio was BAD. You couldnt hear the sound because of the thumping of the speaker against the dash. The air conditioner kept making noise. I could hear the engine when the vehicle was sitting at a light or when we were on the road. Now the UGLY: NOISE FATIGUE: Please stop the noise. It never stops. The radio makes ugly noise, the tires make noise, the air conditioner makes noise. Im tire of the noise. I can hear other vehicles passing by. I cant hear the radio with all the noise. Im giving this vehicle up as soon as I can. There, Im tired.

Scared to drive - 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Car cuts off in the middle of driving and leaving me with no power on a busy Interstate several times. Dealership cant find anything wrong with it although I barely got it there. Car States vehicle needs transmission repair service and brake service. Seems no one can help! Do not buy this car. Lemon warning.

Not for tall people or car seats! - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By Michael Nichols - September 5 - 3:42 pmI bought a Liberty brand new in 2005 and LOVE it to this day. It was time to replace my husbands car, so the Cherokee seemed like the closest to the Liberty we coukd find. It is not. A Jeep in name only, we discovered the backseat has far less head room- I am 61" and my head is mashed against the ceiling. We have a toddler, and there is only about 5" clearance from the carseat to the ceiling- getting him in and out is very difficult. This is not a vehicle for you if you need to use carseats!!! As much as I LOVE my Liberty, I am so disappointed in the Cherokee. After only 5 days I am asking OBrien to take it back. This is not an SUV, but a station wagon or "crossover" at best. MAJOR BUYERS REMORSE.

DONT BUY!! - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By Kenny - April 1 - 7:05 pmI bought the 2016 Cherokee Sport, it sounds like a diesel powered sewing machine, according to the dealer its normal.. yeah you heard it right.. A 2016 Jeep sounds like a 92 Chevy Cavalier only the Cavalier has more power and sounds better!! not to mention the headlights get a lot of moisture in them "dealer said thats normal too" < because you want a brand new car with rusted headlight connectors right?!?.. this vehicle is a joke!! You hit the gas and it takes a good 3 seconds to start moving. The MPG is around 13 to 14, not what the manufacturer says and thats driving like an old lady. Very Unhappy with it and will NOT buy another Jeep unless its a 90s model thats the only time they got it right!!

Soggy 2016 Jeep Cherokee lemon - 2016 Jeep Cherokee
By IngridD - July 9 - 4:43 pmMy 2016 Jeep Cherokee has under 3K miles on it and it is a lemon. It has a water leak that causes floorboards to be soaked. Vehicle has been at dealership four times for this issue (currently still there). Each time they return the car to me they say they have sealed this or that and water tested. Each time the leak has quickly returned. I opened a case (#29199176) with Jeep/Chrysler. I want my money back. I am concerned about corrosion and long-term reliability issues with the vehicle. I worry about mold affecting my familys health. I want my money back so that I may buy a different vehicle and Move on. I do not have time in my life for this drama. I am super busy with high stress job, kids and a frail mother suffering from dementia. The last thing I need is an unreliable car which is why I purchased a new vehicle. I felt the jeep would be easier for my mom to get in and out of but clearly I should have gone with another SUV. So far I am underwhelmed by the response I am getting from Jeep/Chrysler. What a pain!!!
