Overview & Reviews
This year Hyundai adds a GLS version of the five-door hatchback to the Elantra line.
- Solidly built, powerful engine for its class, long list of standard features, comfortable interior, ultralow price tag, generous warranty.
- Floaty ride on the freeway with base suspension, hard to find equipped with ABS, poor offset crash test score.

A fun car - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By Jared - October 27 - 5:58 pmWhen I bought the Elantra I was looking for a fairly sensible yet fun car. I am delighted to say that I found one. It handles smoothly and doesnt slouch on the highway.

Move over Honda and Toyota - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By Jay - February 14 - 6:00 pmI had a Civic previously and like the Elantra a lot more. It has more room, rides better, and has better acceleration. The only negatives are the relatively poor gas mileage for a compact and the rear window fogs in humidity unless the AC is on.

Hyundai on the move to the top!! - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By 1SweetV6 - February 3 - 12:56 pmWe traded in my wifes 01 Neon, it stunk on gas. We went with the Hy Elantra because of the warrenty. She drives 100+ miles a DAY!! We couldnt find any other car for the price+value+warrenty. Nothing came close to it. All power options+ Sun R, CD, Keyless, etc. Rides very nice, nice seats, nice looks, not much road noise, less then the Neon thats for sure!

Very Happy 3rd Time Owner - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By Special Ari - October 17 - 5:16 pmI first puchased a used 99 elantra. I had that car for a few years with no problems. My fiance bought a new Accent and I just bought a new 5door Elantra GT. I am increadably happy. This is my first new car and I am comfortable knowing i will be taken car of with the warrenty especially since I am a student. Remember you get a lot of car for such a low price because Hyundai is still making a name for itself in this country. The GT is fun to drive, the manual is very responsive and the suspension firm, but not harsh. I look good in this car and I look forward to driving it. Also I must say the six speaker stereo is loud and very clear. This is no econobox.

a little bit of heaven - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By allen - February 25 - 7:33 amAlthough I would like to see the seat coverings more modern looking, the car drives fabulous. Its responsive and handles with ease and surety. It has all the bolts and whistles at a fraction of the costs we pay for Toyota and Honda. After test driving all three I picked the Elantra. It had a better feel than the other two. And you cannot beat the warranty.

Bills review - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By Bill Blakely - October 26 - 8:16 amI drive 46 miles to work every day, so I need a vehicle that gets good mileage. So far I have gotten 37 mpg, which is just under what I got with my 97 Saturn SL2. Its fairly comfortable, and the gauges are in plain sight. The odometer/trip meter button is kind of awkwardly placed.

Overall good car for a small family - 2005 Hyundai Elantra
By Joseph Teague - August 29 - 8:03 amWe have owned Hyundias for several years and enjoy the cost free driving and the small car look. They have great room inside and trunk space. If youre looking for a low priced, good quality car with great coverage and low insurance payments this is the car for your family!
