  • 2006 Ridgeline RTL - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

I liked many of the things about my new Ridgeline RTL - the build, the looks, the handling,.... I have hope that the Ridgeline engine will last for many years. In hindsight, I wish that I had chosen a Toyota Tundra or Tacoma instead. After only 1000 miles, my battery went dead many times and had to be replaced. Gas mileage is poor for a V-6 and acceleration on hills is noticeably lacking. I get passed by pick-up trucks with V-8s all the time. The stereo system needs a lot of improvement as well. It could use a built-in equalizer. Overall, the Ridgeline is a nice, comfortable truck in many respects but it is not worth the high price in my opinion; at least not yet!

  • Good Choice - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

I traded a 2003 Honda Pilot for a 2006 Ridgeline because the Pilot was getting worn out and torn up using it as a pickup. Hardly knew the difference with the Ridgeline as the ride and performance feel like the same vehicle. Performance is good, and love the new features. Oil is monitored by an onboard diagnostic unit that allows you to go further between changes. I get about 7000 miles before the light comes on, so no more 3000 miles/3 months. Only problem have experienced is the interior driver door handle linkage broke, covered under warranty. 17-19 MPG as a Houston commuter. Dont plan on using it to move or carry a king size mattress, the 5 bed is small, but big enough for me!

  • Super truck for Honda 1st try.. - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Honda, hmm??? Its a Honda. I bought it in July 2005 and boy, I put a ton of accessories on that truck and walked away w/ the price @ 35,000. Not thing to complain on ride, handling..etc, but a minor prolem for me and maybe major soon. Well I put 13,700 on this truck, I really enjoyed every bit of it, unfortunately, my truck has a major leaks. The water gets in the vehicle through unsealed body seams, front end of the vehicle. Its taking Honda three strikes to try, and now its back to the dealership for the third time...I love everything about this truck but, minor prolem shall put down Hondas reputation, at least to me..So my suggestion is wait til the 2nd generation then go for it....

  • Nice Truck - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Very nice truck for Hondas first year. I put on about 3,000 miles per month and I own it now for 9 months. Everything in the truck suites my needs well. The drawback for me is I need a larger cargo area, at least 6 feet long with tailgate up. It should come standard, like with the top of the line truck, the enclosed watertight hard cargo cover. It should have running boards and fancier wheels (chromes). Other than that, I cant see anything else the truck needs unless you are gong to pull heavy things - then you will need a larger engine... Good Luck in your purchase.

the reat strut is blown at 1100 miles, never towed, no loads, dealer told me 3- 5 days for part, and no loaner car. honda is a joke on customer satisfaction, he said the part had to be made, how do they make ridgelines on the assembly line? whats next, will the engine lock up? gas mileage is over stated, i bought it for the mileage, what a joke!

  • Part Time Pickup - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Ive been very impressed with the quality and with the handling. It is just enough pickup for what I need and will fit in my garage (barely).

  • Better than Competition - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Best ride for a truck that Ive experienced. Rear vision is somewhat limited. Turning radius is larger than expected and fuel economy could be improved. All minor inconveniences which all vechiles have some. Biggest complaint I have is when driving at higway spped 55+ there is a constant wind whistle that can not be isolated. Not too bad with radio playing but with no nosie or conversation in the cab, sound becomes very annoying.

  • great truck but - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

I have a 2006 RTL Ridgeline. I had to bring it back to the dealer for repair to the paint in the door jams....cause dirt in the paint.....From Honda??? Bought tonneau cover and its designed to leak in the middle?? Honda Corp claims this is a good design.... I am worried that Hondais no longer a Japanese quality concerned car company......

  • squeaky noise - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Every time that i put pressure on the steering wheel i heard this squeaking noise, i return it to the dealer but they still canot fix it. plus the seat is a little bit too long, very uncomfortable.

  • First in Cincinnati - 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Great Performance except when the A/C is on. With the A/C on, the automatic transmission shifts up and down often. Great features, like the trunk,GPS, XM Radio. Matter of fact, the radio is fantastic. The truck is more quite than others that I have driven. Nice interior for a truck. The worst attribute is the poor mpg. I have averaged between 15+ to 16+ mpg. including expressway driving.
