Honda Pilot EX-L RES - 2003 Honda Pilot
By singh1 - June 19 - 10:00 amI bought at the end of June. Have close to 2000 miles on it. Dont pay more than MSRP + Taxes. Why? Because considering the alternatives and that this is a first year model, I dont think the Pilot is worth more than $36,000 OTD. I had a problem with a wind noise coming from the passenger side. Also have a problem with the drivers side windshield washer leaking out fluid onto the hood. I still need to take it in for that... Nice SUV overall. This is my first import purchase. I do miss the power of the Chevy V-8s and the low range. Im actually one of the few SUV owners that enjoy tackling rough terrain where you need low range to get up the hill...or down one.

Stuck Accelerator - 2003 Honda Pilot
By glenn debell - May 14 - 2:00 amI have the all weather floor mats. After going to a commercial carwash and not realizing that they did not secure the mat to the pins the the floor. Upon entry to the vechicle I evidently moved the mat forward. Applying full throttle caused the pedal to stick open. The pins are not designed to accomodate the all weather mats. I would like to see a recall om this item.Wind noise from bug sheild is absurd!

Getting to like it - 2003 Honda Pilot
By tpc - April 19 - 2:00 amPurchased the vehicle over the phone after calling 5 dealerships and getting the price on an EX-L down $2200. We are paying $398 a month for a 36 months lease-12k miles a year. We put down $1598. The buyout at the end of the lease is $18,200. Very happy so far with the vehicle. Its our 5th Honda. Never any problems. I have a 98 F150 pickup and use it for work. Piece of American crap. Would never consider an Explorer for the family.

Smooth it out - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Smoothitout - March 13 - 2:00 amOutstanding internior design. Utilization of space, controls and visability are the best of any car at any cost I have experienced. Excellent over size, performance. My one frustration is that I replaced OEM tires with Goodyear Fortura HLs at delivery and have vibration and harshness in ride. Has anyone had good experience with OEM tire replacement?

On the road..... - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Michael - February 5 - 12:46 amOnly minor glitch was some chrome plating peeling on the inside of the drivers door--promptly fixed by dealer under warranty. Car is excellent in all aspects but one....with the roof rack and cross bars, there is an annoying road whistle at highway speeds. This should be redesigned.

Love my Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot
By JGRacer - December 12 - 2:00 amNot as many bells and whistles as the Jeep Cherokee but a far superior ride and comfort. This is a SUV that drives like a sedan. The stereo leaves a little to be desired.

Still Getting Acquainted to an SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Brizzi - December 1 - 10:00 amMy intro to the SUV was the result of necessity. I must admit that the vehicle is every bit as comfortable on the highway as my wifes El Dorado but,I miss the "feel" of the road. Another thing that surprises me is that the gas mileage is lower on the SUV and I runnnning almost 85 horsepower less. Inside, there is plenty of room and comfort and it is pleasing to the eye. As far as the outside goes, its just another SUV. The vehicle itself is very good. I just need to get used to it.

Solid and powerful, but pricey - 2003 Honda Pilot
By DanJ - November 17 - 10:00 amI was surprised that the exterior looks more muscular and athletic than the most photos show. It has a more masculine look than the Highlander. The Pilot EX interior wasnt as attractive as the Highlander Limited - and the dealer-installed faux wood is about $600 extra. Still, the interior was comfortable - although perhaps more designed for a larger-framed person than is the Toyota. It was very roomy inside for a mid-sized - with the 2nd & 3rd row flat, the storage space was cavernous.

Great vehicle - 2003 Honda Pilot
By pjro53 - October 30 - 2:00 amHonda has done a great job. I compared the Honda Pilot to the Acura MDX and the new Volvo SUV. The Honda handles nicely, lots of space, nice creature comforts, and everything works. Paid just under MSRP so prices are starting to drop slightly. Compared to the MDX the Pilot lacks the Acura Brand, the Sun Roof, the heated seats, and entertainment system. I put in the PS2. The result was a car that was $9000 less than the Acura w/o about $2500 worth of features. The Brand was not worth that to me. The shape of the MDX is smoother. The Volvo looks great but fully loaded is $4000 plus more than the MDX. Nav system is excellent. Overall a great value.
