  • Excellent SUV & solution to wind noise! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Love it. Handles like a car. Tight steering, quiet interior, fantastic visibility. RELIABLE! Ive read some issues regarding a "howling" and wind noise. If you have this problem and have cross rails on the roofrack, then here is your solution: http://www.hondasuv.com/pilot/viewtopic .php?t=25 Mine too were mounted backwards. Once switched, the problem was gone. The most quiet SUV I have ever driven.

  • All-Around best SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

I am an engineer and put in a significant amount of research into the SUV market. I wont use the truck for a lot of off roading so it is perfect for me and my family. I also want to keep it for 10+ years so you have to get a Honda. I only wish Honda included the sunroof as an option. Otherwise, its the best bang for your buck!!!!

Have had about 3 months (4K miles). One long trip. No trouble at all so far. Very impressed with interior room vs exterior size. Have taken short trip with 4 adults and 2 kids in car seats. Still has room for double stroller and packages. Very comfortable for me or my wife driving. Smooth ride, great power, visibility and great stereo. Replaced a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the works. This car drives and rides better and quieter than the Jeep ever did plus it holds a lot more. Have not taken the Pilot into the mountains or off road yet so I can not compare to the Jeeps off road ability. At MSRP - 1K it cost about the 95 Jeep price.

Have driven our Pilot 3000 miles and it has perfomed great in all situations. Previously had 3 Subarus. Like this much better. Easy to drive to ski areas on snow, hills and sharp curves. Solid and stable. Engine more than sufficient while still using regular. Moves along easily and comfortably at 75+. In town driving 18-19 mpg. Just completed 1600 mile trip to Oregon coast. Averaged 22.6 mpg. Seats comfortable even after a 10 hour day. Visability good in all directions.

  • So glad I bought - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought this vehicle with the intent that it would be my daughters first vehicle after she turned 16 this year and I would upgrade. This past week my daughter had her first accident which was a roll over. I cannot tell you how glad I am I bought this vehicle. It did everything it should have to protect her. Everyone including the insurance adjuster has commented on what a great job the support system in this truck did in protecting my child. Thank you Honda.

We are very pleased with our recent purchase. Lots of storage space, well thought out compartments, very nice interior trim. Ride comfort is excellent, engine is smooth. Nav system is very good although the software is several years out of date. Audio system is good, dash mounted tweeters are a little shrill. Excellent visibility, large mirrors and good over the hood view. We compared ML350, RX330, MDX, Murano, Touareg.

  • Comfortable, safe, we love it! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Only a month ago, we went from a mammoth SUV to the Pilot -- great move! So far the Pilot has been fun to drive because its easy to maneuver and it responds well. Visibility is much better than in taller vehicles or air tunnel-designed cars. Inside the Pilot, changing from the third row to more cargo space is a breeze! The optional cargo mat protects the third row and rolls up easily when the third row is in use.

  • My first Experience in a PILOT - 2003 Honda Pilot

Road trip 600mile.I got only 12- 14city/19mpg highway. VERY NOISY road/tire noise in 2nd/3Rd row where your childrens sits! Poor gove compartmnt design, your legs hits it when you stretch or try to put your legs agains the wall. Noise/squeeks behind the dash or radio. Wind noise is usual, but you will hear it loader than the highlander and sequoia. So if you looking for a quiet, nice, car for trip= this is NOT the car!!!! 2nd row seats is not even as roomy as a honda Accord. 3rd row seats are for children under age of 10. 4-YEARS of engineering a pilot and this is what they came up with?

  • Perfect Timing! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Really wanted the Pilot but just could not come to the realization that I was going to be forced to pay MSRP and atleast a 4.9% finance rate! And during the days of interest free financing going on with the American truck makers. I almost decided against the Pilot until I read one of these reviews and someone made the statement, "Id rather get a bad deal on a good vehicle than get a good deal on a bad vehicle". I thought that statement made alot of sense. So now Im a proud Pilot owner and I even was able to work a deal with the local dealer to get a great price on some running boards and have one of the dealer add ons at no cost.

  • Truly the #1 - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought this vehicle without even test driving it. The recommendations from Consumer Reports and Edmunds were enough for me. And I was not disappointed. I picked it from the dealer and drove 60 miles to my home on a stormy day. It was rock steady against 50 mph winds on the freeway. I had a tough time finding this vehicle and the color that I wanted at MSRP.
