  • Nice but noisy - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I love this van but.... It makes a squealing noise when you drive fast. Honda said that it’s fine I don’t agree. Also there is no way for the heat to go to your legs only I enjoyed that feature in my Volvo. The van is real fun to drive but it looks like a big over-weight boat. I am over all very happy i just wish Honda would get rid of the noise.

  • Bad Start - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Im off to a bad start, as is the Honda. It has difficult starts. I took it in to the dealer, and they claim its just a faulty battery. I got a new one so well see. I also hear wind/whistle noises, as does my occupants, but the dealer doesnt. The vehicle has yet to exceed 20 mpg. Everything else is fantastic. Smooth ride. Comfortable. Others mat wait until new model problems are worked out.

  • "Fair and Balanced " - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Initially had problem with steering wheel jiggle at higher speeds. Dealer did a spin balance of tires to no avail. Next the dealer had a power/force balance done at an offsite location and this worked. The dealer was very concerned and determined to fix the problem. The dealer was fair, and the tires were balanced.

  • Ready for something else. - 2005 Honda Odyssey

My husband and I have been very disappointed with our Odyssey. We have always bought GM products but thought that all the safety and consumer ratings were too hard to pass up. The vehicle is supposedly XM ready but you need an $800 part in order to get XM. The gas mileage has not been good at all. I got better in my Venture van. The transmission drives like a manual, I hate having to open the gas cap from the inside and it doesnt have daytime running lamps like GM cars. There is always something rattling like the windows and doors which on a brand new vehicle shouldnt be happening. There is a lot of room and we like the magic seats but are planning to buy something else now.

  • You gotta do this! - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I bought my Odessey 12/30/04. It is a 2005 EX. I currently live in Florida but my home is Maryland. It handled the road quite well. But fatique set in with leg room cramped on drivers side. It had pep and rolled with the best of them. Didnt notice road noise travelling up the interstate. My music drowned out everything anyway! Please make room for a full size tire!!!!! All in all, I would still recommend this van over any others! I plan on making another purchase of a van but want the full size tire option and driver leg/head room or I will hve to look elsewhere!!!! At the price for this van, I would think that these improvements could be met!

  • cheap plastics and jittery! - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Coming off 7 years of Chrysler T&Cs, we wanted to buy another, but 3 significant problems kept us away: 1. the stow away seats are inadequate for regular adult ferrying! 2. the head room shrank considerably with the side air bags (Im only 6 but felt claustrophobic), 3. and the front passenger seat lost most adjustments. Come on. Figure it out! The Honda solves those problems, with good power, great tranny, comfy seats all around, decent int. storage ideas, and rep. for reliability. Not a bad execution, EXCEPT for the cheap plastics, everywhere. Every handle, lever and release feels thin, sharp (dont get cut) uncomfortable--like youd expect in a minivan for $12K.

  • Think Carefully Before Buying Touring - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We love Honda, and we love our Odyssey. We were excited about the extra features of the Touring model, but we wished we had not bought it: 1)The parking sensors have malfunctioned erratically, but never at a dealership. 2)The PAX tire technology is not widespread. If you get a flat (even a nail), the entire wheel must be replaced by an authorized dealer (very few are certified and have them in stock) and cost is approx. $500. Dont have a flat tire unless you are within 150 miles of an authorized dealer! 3)There is no way to manually open the power lifegate if the power malfunctions. The power liftgate is also difficult and time consuming to repair.

  • 30-Something Van Owner - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Bought the van, and I love it (never thought I would say that, by the way). This van is very practical and functional as a van should be. I wish the paint quality on the bumper was better, it seems to chip off very easily. But, who cares, its a van, right! It drives exceptionally well, and the kids enjoy being up high and seeing everything. Seat comfort is fine for me, but everyone is different. There is a slight rattling sound near the passenger side slider, but who cares, its a van, right! All in all, it blows away most vans on the market today (I test drove them all), and the extra money spent on this van versus the domestic junk out there is well worth it. • Odyssey Brake System - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have been driving 29500 freeway miles, The Honda dealership replaced all four wheel brake pads around 18,000 miles with upgraded pads (they said upgraded parts by Honda), now when I hit the brake, the steering wheel is shaking, The dealership said the problem is not covered on warranty, also not resolve the problem unless the front disks (rotors) are replaced. I think Honda used undersized brake disc for front wheel comparing with my other vehicle, which runs slightly more than my Odyssey. this is the my current problem. I think it needs improvement.

  • Great car. Poor MPG! - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

One of the primary reasons I purchased my Odyssey was is EPA mpg ratings. It is nowhere close. I have had it for less than a month and I get about 16MPG combined.
