  • Noise - 2005 Honda Odyssey

While so much seems fine we are having a lot of trouble with the exhaust. It seems when the car is at 2000 rpm there is a loud vibration noise under your foot on the gas pedal and under the seat of the passenger side. Weve brought it back to Curry Honda twice and they have said it is a feature with the car and not to worry. However it is extrememly annoying to drive.

Went looking for a 2004 EX Ody due to high CR ratings. Test drove 3 & found huge range of ride quality. Test drove three 2005s w/similar mileage and all had same ride quality - vastly superior to 2004. Previously purchased high mileage 99 Ody that served us well - despite installing 2 trannys at warranty expense. Wrecked it in January & bought the 2005. Incredible ride, handling, quiet, features, kids and wife absolutely love it.

We just bought our 2005 Oddessey van a few days ago, but I just cant believe how awesome this minivan is. Traded in our 2002 Mercury Villager Sport-no comparison! Always heard the Oddessey was the best, and its absolutely true! We did get $$ off of sticker and the dealership made this purchase a pleasure. So much fun to drive and you can feel the quality the second you sit in it. I did my shopping and test drove all of them, and by far Honda is the best. I love my van!!!

Totaled our 1999 Ody of 3.5years in Jan 08. Test drove 3 potential used 2004 replacements at local Honda dealership. Ride quality ranged hugely. Tried three (50K)2005s and we were hooked. If 2004 was 8 on 0-10 scale, 2005 was 10. Similarity of ride between the 3 2005s identical. Have had the 2005 EX a week now. Interior comfort styling, function is TOPS. Well taken care of by prev owner - all dealership maintenances. Steering pump and reservoir, brake pads, windsheild reglued by warranty under prev owner. Stereo increadible although old tech in no MP3/Ipod capable. Roomy, lush, quite tight ride, all power. Great van buy thus far - will advise later.

  • Love the van, hate the MPG. - 2005 Honda Odyssey

First 3K miles have been fairly uneventful. Van rides and drives like a dream with plenty of pickup and a resonabley quiet cabin. The overall fit and finish seems to be quite good and all controls logically placed. Did encounter a flat tire at 2K (non-PAC) and no michelin dealer in town (Louisville, KY) carried the replacement, dealer had to order and it took five days. The biggest disappointment has been with the gas mileage. Neither my wife or I have gotten over 19MPG. We got as low as 13 in the city. Overall weve been averaging about 15-18 MPG. Well below what is stating as the range. The dealer has asked me to provide receipts with documented mileage to help track the issue.

  • Luv my Odyssey BUT SERVICE IS A PROBLEM: - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Ok, My 05 EXL has 35,000 miles on it. So far I have had a windshield seal replaced due to an air leak, new brake pads, new power steering pump, rattling of the windows?, glove boxes dont fit, warped badge, and a very weird AC noise which I am waiting to blow up- which is not resolved. I still love this van but quality wise I got the lemon. The worst part is I moved where the local Service Dealer is HORRIBLE! I have finally found a better dealership 50 miles away! If only GM came up with the features of the Honda/Toyotas. Anyway, love the van- just hope it makes it to 200,000 miles. Just disappointed that a car that costs over $32,000 has this many problems, makes me sad.

I have had 2 Dodge Caravans and a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the last 20 years. This vehicle is the best so far in almost all respects. Im 3000 miles into a 6000 mile road trip and the comfort provided by the van is excellent wheather

  • Happy...overall BUT... - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I love My Odyssey...and it is the 2nd one we have owned...the body style looks great...and the new "split 3rd row" is very handy...The TV is nice...It took me a while to figure out all of the electronic buttons.... We are happy overall... but it has several annoying rattles.... a strange zipping sensation in the pedal when you put the van in drive and accelerate for the first time on EVERY a trip. I have to use one of the many cup holders to hold change... being that there is no ash tray or change compartment... head set for TV does not work all the time in the 3rd row... I wish the window lock did not lock the drivers window controls..

  • Good features - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Compare features and prices, Ody beats Sienna for sure. Price is great, too. We got ours at about $100 over invoice in March 05. Build quality could have been better- check odyclub.com for opinions. Many owners have found problems typical of 1st year build- paint defects and trim alignment problems. Make sure you closely inspect the outside paint quality and inside trim, especially the glove box alignment. MPG is so so at 20mpg average, but I dont expect much there since its a heavy vehicle.

  • Proud Owner of a 2005 Honda Odyssey - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Recently my husband and I felt that it was time to trade-in our 2002 Honda Odyssey for something newer. We looked at several other minivans but none could compare to our Odyssey. I love my Odyssey inside out! Other vehicles might come close but once you have driven the Odyssey there is just no way to settle for anything else. We are a family of 5 and do quite a bit of traveling, we fit very comfortably and with plenty of room for luggage. Sometimes we even take our parakeets and dog with us and there is still room remaining. The Odyssey is extremely quiet and has a very smooth drive. I highly recommend the Honda Odyssey for anyone that is looking for quality, style, reliability and comfort.
