Overview & Reviews
The Odyssey gains a number of improvements this year. Included with the Odyssey 2.1 upgrade is more power, a new five-speed transmission, standard rear disc brakes and side airbags, optional leather seating and DVD entertainment, two new exterior colors and minor interior storage refinements.
- Excellent crash-test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system, a bargain at sticker price.
- Slow power sliding doors, dealer markup still a possibility.

AWESOME VEHICLE!! - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By luvinit - December 8 - 10:00 amI LOVE THE UPGRADES!! I USED TO OWN A 1995 ODDYSEY AND NOW OWN A 2002 EXL W/DVD. OUR FIRST LONG DISTANCE TRIP IN THIS VEHICLE WAS ACTUALLY A JOY FOR ME TO DRIVE!! THE KIDS WERE ENTERTAINED THE ENTIRE WAY! POTTY BREAKS!! WHAT POTTY BREAKS?!! THE SHIFTING IS A SMOOTH AS CAN BE NOW AND THE INSIDE CABIN IS SO MUCH MORE QUIET! BRAVO HONDA!! I WOULD SUGGEST THE HONDA CARE WARRANTY - NO HASSLES - ABSOLUTELY NONE OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS WITH THIS WARRANTY.

Best Choice for a Van - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By pexpert - October 25 - 2:00 amLooked at Sienna as we have owned 4 Toyotas. ODY beats Sienna hands down. More room, easier to operate (my 4 year old can use the power doors) DVD (vs VCR in Sienna) all the same bells and whistles and even a pretty good price. Wife (who LOVES Toyota) says this is a better van. Try it! You will LOVE it!

TopNotchOdyssey - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By Conrad - October 20 - 10:00 amAside from being an outstanding vehicle, the dealership (Rusty Wallis) just made the buying process extremely good. I live and work right next to two other Honda Dealers, but still travel all the way to Rusty Wallis to get things done. Superb Car, Superb people.

honda - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By jviray - July 27 - 10:00 amI just bought my 1st Honda for my family. So far, we are very happy with it. The only complain I got so far, is the quality. For 35k I expect almost a perfect minivan.

Its the best van! - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By che - July 21 - 10:00 amWe owned a Dodge and traded it in for the Odyssey. Our Dodge had electrical problems and was a complete nightmare ... we wont get into that! My wife and I wanted a van that we could grow into with our two small boys. I already own a 92 Accord EX L (200k miles and going) so I was familiar with how durable they are. We are thrilled with our new Odyssey EX L with DVD because of its control, power and comfort. Honda really did listen to their customers and produced a great van. Now I can sit back and watch moves with my kids while my wife drives without any worries. Thanks Edmunds.

Alaska Yukon or Bust - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By Ottawa-Yukon - July 21 - 10:00 amAfter spending 7 weeks on the road an 18,000 km (11250 miles) this van drove effortlessly. Gas mileage on the highway was acceptable considering that we were driving at an average speed of 120 kmph (75mph). The engines power and passing ability is simply the best and always had lots of power when you needed it. After returnin from Alaska, I am more impressed with it than before. This van is hard to beat!

I Came, I Saw, I Honda(ed) - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By tjs3 - June 14 - 10:00 amOutstanding Vehicle. It is, what it is! An exremely comfortable, well designed mini-van PLUS! And with style, also, ours has the Enhanced Entertainment Center with Concern for the Driver as well as passengers. Excellent performance from upgraded V6, 4 wheel Disc brakes, very good outward vision with the exception of front nose. The Sliding Power doors are very welcome, smooth and not too slow, as some reviewing "experts" have tried to decry. It is a smart purchase for smart shoppers. We(the entire family, 2 adults, 3 children) hartily reccommend it. Overall a fine combination of functionality, high value and Safety. 2nd Place means First LOSER.

Great Minivan - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By 1stody - April 26 - 10:00 amBest minivan mainly because of the fold down rear seat. Large cargo space and Honda reputation also helps. But the van is a great ride, although Honda needs to upgrade their EX Leather trim with more bells/whistles. Especially the stereo system (this really is mediocre at best).
