  • Best Gas Mileage Ever - 2009 Honda Fit
    By -

I bought this 2009 Fit 13 months ago under the cash for clunkers program and have not reset the Avg MPG indicator yet. As of today it shows that my MPG avg from the day I bought is 40.0 MPG.It runs better than any car I have ever owned. And I have owned a lot of them .I bought my first car in 1946. It was a 1934 ford. If it wasnt for the Cash for Clunkers Program I would still be driving my old van getting around 17 MPG and it being in the repair shop too much.

  • Great Commuter - 2009 Honda Fit

I test drove a Fiesta and ended up with the Fit. The main factor in favor of the Fit was that it feels like a much bigger car on the inside. The Fiesta hatchback is claustrophobic and is tough to see out the back window. The Fiesta is quieter and has more bells and whistles (Sync). But the Fit has a much more flexible interior. I drive 50/50 highway/city and so far am averaging about 36 mpg. Mostly use to commute but can also fit my (2) kids and all their soccer gear. With one rear seat folded down I fit 4, 6ft soccer goals inside. Manual Shifter is great, and IPod/USB integration is nice. Also I was able to buy it used at a great price while the Fiesta is still new.

  • Fun & Efficient - 2009 Honda Fit

I bought this car to replace an aging Chevy Tracker, knowing I was going to put a lot of miles on the next year. The Fit has more cargo room than the SUV had, and the thing is so incredibly fun to drive on curved roads. Thing is, I dont think Ive gotten less than 35 mpg yet, with 31,000 miles on it! I have gotten 40-42 mpg (calculated, not based off the computer) on many occasions. Of course, I try to be smart with the manual so as to save gas, but Im definitely no hyper-miler. This car is fun to drive, very fuel efficient, and has incredible storage capacity.

  • Bought 2 - 2009 Honda Fit

My wife and I bought 2 of these after reading reviews and test driving one. I drive about 80 miles a day to and from work and love it costing me $22.00 a week to fill it up. Much cheaper than my old Explorer. Wish it would have come with floor mats for what it cost. Went to the dealer and told him what we wanted and drive them home in about 3 hours. No having to deal with the usual new car sales b.s. if we could have afforded it we would have bought the suv and 1 fit instead. Still love them and they are very reliable. If you are thinking about one, buy it. its worth the money

  • Love it, wish it had more power though - 2009 Honda Fit
    By -

Ive had this fit sport over a year, only racked up 5000 miles. I love to drive it when the weather is nice. The first snow storm, tracked through the snow great but, didnt feel too confident the car is really light and it slid a few times. So parked it all winter and drove my awd car. On long drives prefer to drive my other car..not crazy about the road noise and slow acceleration. But the car is great for city driving and parallel parking is a breeze, but its deceptive in that i think im always close to the car behind/front of me but in reality Im pretty far. Overall I love the car, but its not my first choice if Im going on a long trip.

  • I love my Fit! - 2009 Honda Fit

Dear future Fit owners! You know, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, its true! Two friends of mine have bought a Honda Fit in the last 2 years because of how much I have raved about mine! Honda should pay ME a royalty! LOL! All you have to do is open the door, get in the gi-normous cabin, turn it on & drive away- youll be hooked! If you dont have a traffic-filled commute, get the 5- speed, the power is significantly better than the automatic. My bighearted little purple girl is perfect anywhere, anytime. Fast getting on the freeway, awesome going up mountain roads, great in the snow, and boy, so light that it flies watch out, youll be doing 85 & not realize it

  • Better seats please - 2009 Honda Fit
    By -

I have owned this car for a year. Very efficient design, fuel economy is good but not great (the computer overestimates fuel economy by about 5 mpg). Ive never experienced any issue with trucks or side winds. The car will haul most things, and is almost like a mini suv. Not one mechanical issue, and the powertrain is very solid. It is overall a very good commuter car. It is not a car for long road trips due to the drivers seats. The ipod connector is hidden, and works well. I wish i had the navigation system as using the standard display to operate the ipod is tedious. The nose is very low and it is very easy to drag on some driveways.

  • Update from one year ago - 2009 Honda Fit

These past 2 weeks we took a trip from North Haven, Ct. to the exact same location 2 weeks in a row. I filled up when we left and refilled after the return trip both times. This is the first time that we took exclusive all highway driving , up to now it has always been a combination of city/highway. The first week we used 2.44 gallons, traveled 114 miles and achieved 46.7 mpg. The second we used 2.31 gallons and traveled 114.4 miles for 49.5 mpg. We very carefully watch the mpg. slide bar and apparently it pays off. We have been achieving combined city/highway 33-37mpg. since we have owned our Fit base automatic for the past 16 months. -Warren.

  • Biggest Little Car Youll Ever Own! - 2009 Honda Fit
    By -

I purchased my Fit after 16 and a half happy years with my Civic. I had tested several other cars but fell in love with the Fit. The interior is huge with amble leg room, seats that adjust comfortable with good lumbar support. The back seats are amazing with seats going up for to haul tall items or down for an enormous storage when needed. Unlike my Civic, the back seats are very comfortable. It is a small car so acceleration might not be that of a high performance sport car, but perfectly adequate for town or highway. I am a gentle driver and get 35-37 around town and an amazing 40-43 on the highway. It is sporty to drive with wonderful visibility. I just love this car!

  • What a car! - 2009 Honda Fit

Ive been a Honda owner for 25+ years and I love my Fit. Its my favorite Honda to date. Its the most sensible car Ive ever owned. Im getting 33 mpg around town and close to 40 on the open road. Its surprisingly comfortable on long rides. I love its super versatility and its deceiving amount of cargo room. I easily fit a full size washing machine in the back. Maybe thats why they call it the FIT, everything seams to FIT. In my book it beats the heck out of any boxy top heavy gas guzzling SUV.
