Hybrid 2005 - 2005 Honda Civic
By beebee - September 30 - 11:12 amLike everything about the car. Gets great gas mileage, about 37 mpg combined. Its a nice alternative to the Prius which has a weird display in the middle of the car. Wish the seats were softer but can always get a little cushion. I am very very happy with this car.

Great vehicle - 2005 Honda Civic
By Aimee - August 20 - 12:15 pmMy Honda Civic VP is a very reliable vehicle. It gets great gas mileage, up to 40 mph by my estimates. I drive 70 miles roundtrip daily for work and we use this car for every trip around town and out of state. Weve never had a problem.

Dont buy if you live in cold climate. - 2005 Honda Civic
By PeeWee - July 7 - 7:06 pmEverything is great about this car, except the climate control. I love the car, but the "heat" and a/c are very lame. It gets great gas mileage and easily holds 75 mph on the interstate. Fortunately not too much has gone wrong.

2005 Honda Civic LX - 2005 Honda Civic
By Max - May 16 - 6:18 pmMost aspects of the car is good. Noise is a big issue, but I put some rubber tar roof repair on all four wheel wells and it helped considerably. The extra sound insulation I put in the doors helped a little too. Every time I fill the tank, I calculate the mpg numbers and its been around 35-37/gal ever since I started using Mobil1 synthetic oil at around 10,000 miles on the odometer. Im at 40,000 now. The only nagging problem Ive had is the plastic panel in the rear windshield making a noise similar to the one you hear when cutting a piece of glass. Took it to the dealer but they say because its just a clip and not a bolt, they cant do much except stick some card board in it.

Rethinking My Purchase - 2005 Honda Civic
By Nate - April 5 - 12:30 amI purchased this vehicle September, 2005. I considered buying the 2005 Nissan Sentra but got a better deal with the Civic. I traded in a 1998 Civic which to me is a better vehicle performance wise than the 2005 model. There is considerable drain on the engine when accelerating to highway speed. The air conditioner is less than desirable on extreme hot days. Braking is poor. Someone missed the mark when they said gas milage is 38/29. I get approximately 31/23. It might be a Honda, but this is a low budget automobile and you get what you pay for.

New 2004 Hybrid - 2005 Honda Civic
By Sandy - September 23 - 7:13 pmPurchased my Honda for the fuel economy because with my husbands job and our rural location we travel quite a bit. I average 45-48 miles per gallon. I love it, it also handles well, and the body style is much better than the Toyota Prius. Thankful that I had the foresight to purchase the vehicle during the high gas prices.

Very reliable but could use more power - 2005 Honda Civic
By Eurotraveler - September 23 - 3:10 amOk 6000 miles later here is my take on this coming from a Celica and a Civic Si. I definitely had to get use to less pep for starters the interior buid is ok but still missing something (dash is a little too dull + very mass production feel). Gas mileage is decent 30 miles per gallon. Rear spolier option for around $500 adds some appeal. Ok enough about the bad... The good is resale value, reliability, low APR financing, value priced and the fact that you dont have to choose from a billion options. Like with the Toyota where every thing on the car is extra. Honda does a great job by grouping their upgrades in packages - DX, LX, and EX. Overall a good buy but could be better

Quiet car - 2005 Honda Civic
By Matt Morgan - July 26 - 3:10 pmI bought this car because it is so quiet. I test drove it on sevral occasions beforehand, and I liked the fact that even when the gas engine is running it is so quiet. It wont win any races, but thats not the intent of this kind of car. The intent is to be a quiet, economical car (that happens to be very environmentally friendly), and it accomplishes these goals admirably. This is the car I should have purchased when I was shopping a couple of years ago. I bought a VW back then, and though I loved it, it was unreliable. No longer my problem.

2005 Honda LX - 2005 Honda Civic
By Rhonda - July 18 - 1:53 pmVehicle is excellent on gas compared to old suburban I was driving. Would not consider for my college bound daughter though. Was disappointed to find out that the Civic had no daytime running lights(available on Canadian models though?) nor do the doors lock automatically upon driving vehicle. During this time and age you almost consider this to be part of the package, Id rather get running lights or auto door locks over mud flaps...or pin striping

Somewhat disappointing - 2005 Honda Civic
By disaptd8 - June 18 - 8:03 pmPurchased new 05 Civic LX. Exterior is fine, looks good, drives good, the tranny is smooth, (a little slow) but smooth. Good braking, solid little car. Decent room for a small car, interior layout, nice, good seats. But, the interior pops like a bowl of Rice Krispies and its very, VERY annoying. Test drove Corolla, did same thing on test drive and I didnt purchase because of the popping. (Civic didnt do this on test drive) Had 02 Camry did same thing. Looks like Japan is going the way of GM with the rattling interior. Why cant auto makers make vehicles that dont snap, crackle & pop when you drive? Honda gets a "D" for the interior build of this Civic. Thank goodness for a good stereo!
