4 Transmissions to date!!!! - 2003 Honda Civic
By Steve - April 4 - 7:11 pmWe bought our 03 Hybrid Civic new we currently have put 105,XXX miles on it. The transmission "judder" started at 22,XXX miles, had that trans replaced (w/a rebuilt one) at 25,XXX miles, then that was replaced at 35,XXX (w/a new one) & received a extended warranty for 75,XXX miles for that one. Now we have just got the car back with a remanufactured Trans at 105,XXX miles. We are not able to get any help from American Honda The current "Case Carrier" is a snide, rude, arrogant. The dealer is going to do his best to help. If anyone has a similar story or good contacts to help please let us know, to ALL who read Honda "reputation for reliability" is GONE!!

Very Reliable For Me - 2003 Honda Civic
By GBradburn - April 2 - 10:38 pmHave had the car now for over 5 years over 80K miles. No mechanical problems at all and fairly good gas mileage. I bought this car for the gas mileage, easy to park/maneuver in city traffic, and its reliability. All three held true. Needs just a little bit more room for those drivers over 6 feet tall.

Problems with Hybrid - 2003 Honda Civic
By scomom - March 17 - 6:54 pmHaving gone from a Jeep Wrangler to this car, I was not impressed w/the drive. Just very plain. It did get great mileage, but there are issues w/this car that are hard to find. The CVT transmission is bad and Honda avoided a recall by doing an extended warranty. It will not apply, however, if you have a salvage title like me. But apart from the $3100 transmission at 87k miles, the commutation sensor went out in about 4 months...$1300! My advice is to avoid the hybrids. What you save in gas you spend on costly repairs.

I love my hybrid! - 2003 Honda Civic
By mjoann - March 5 - 9:40 amWe put over 35,000 miles a year on this car, and are absolutely delighted with our gas mileage and fuel savings. We love the color, a pearlized blue that only comes on the hybrids, and we love the cute style. Most of all, we love helping the environment with a fuel responsible vehicle.

So Far So Good - 2003 Honda Civic
By mcolburn - March 2 - 2:00 amJust got the EX 5Sp this weekend. Im happy with it so far. Got it for about $15800. I suggest you contact the "Internet Department" at your dealer for the best "deal". Tempe Honda will get my referrals, everyone was helpful, no pushy salesman, and they were concerned about getting me out of there fast. Plus I got 1.9% for 60Months

Highly Recommended - 2003 Honda Civic
By Mehran - February 25 - 2:00 amI have a 90 miles a day commute, so I just hit 1000 miles.I got a CVT for 18,500.If you are trying to go from 0 to 60 in 5 sec, dont read any further. This car has ample power.I pass easily at 65,drive comfortabley at 65- 80 mph,get into and out off the hwy easily.I am getting an average of 48 mpg.It has a better pickup than my Golf.Dont like the placement of the radio, crouise control, side miror control,&power window buttons. The radio sound is OK.The environmental controls are cool and efficient.Interior is great and comfortable.Overall this has been a great car and smart investment. If youre in the marker, I highly recommend it.

2003 Hybrid review - 2003 Honda Civic
By fidlcat - February 14 - 10:00 am. I commute about 70 miles daily - mostly on "country roads" averaging about 50 -55 mph with, with only 5-10 of these miles being "city" driving. I am very pleased with this car. I average approximately 50 mpg and have not had any mechanical problems. I enjoying seeing how far I enjoy trying to beat my last mpg and am hoping to get the 600 mile tank as some other owners have reported being able to do. Thus far, I can get about 500 - 550 per tank. In spite of a few issues I have listed in the "suggested improvements" section, I am extremely pleased with this car and would buy another.

Cant go wrong... - 2003 Honda Civic
By pjssesco - February 14 - 10:00 amI looked around at many different cars and found that the Si was the way to go. Im 6 and Im comfortable in this car with plenty of room all around. Car isnt the quickest but has more than enough pick up to get you where youre going. If you choose there are plenty of modifications to add the extra H.P. if thats a problem. I have no complaints about this car.
