02 Civic coupe 5speed - 2002 Honda Civic
By drew Kramer - July 25 - 8:35 pmI bought this car right when I got my license, and I love it. I have a low paying job and that really helps me because I only fill my tank once every 3 weeks. The engine is pretty weak, and with my 5 speed I really have to rev it pretty hard to get up to highway speed. It is fun to drive, pretty nimble with good handling. The stock speaker system isnt all that bad either. I think it was a perfect first car for me.

Once Reliable... Now Not So Sure... - 2002 Honda Civic
By Sean - July 15 - 11:00 amI bought this car from my sister over 5 years ago (she bought it brand new). Ive always been on time with the scheduled maintenance and havent had any huge repairs other than the timing belt and water pump combo repair that cost about $1400. But NOW... some days when it starts, it will idle very rough and can barely climb hills. The engine seems to be misfiring even when I drive during any driving conditions. Brought it to the local shop and they cant find anything wrong. I feel very betrayed by my Civic just because Ive always done the maintenance on time. Changed the spark plugs and ignition coils and still runs like garbage.

Love it too much to give up! - 2002 Honda Civic
By jess52006 - July 7 - 8:21 pmI have had my 02 civic since it was brand new in 12/2001. I now have 104,000 miles on it. I love the 5 speed manual, makes it fun to drive. Only one major problem (brake booster $700 repair) since the few "new model quirks" were covered by original 3yr warranty. Average 38 mpg mixed driving. We have gone through 3 other cars in the life of this one and just cant give it up. Ill probably drive it until it dies (which could be another 200,000 miles!) Never once have had an oil change on time (like every 6,000 miles) and its always at the correct level...even when I go wayyy over. :) I would recommend this car to anyone!

LOVIN My Civic - 2002 Honda Civic
By HappyHondaOwner - June 8 - 2:24 pmPurchased brand new, not a single repair. Still has original brake pads! Fantastic gas mileage, very fun to drive. Had to get aftermarket sound system as the factory version wasnt very good in 02. Planning to drive for 10 more years!

Lookin good - 2002 Honda Civic
By Tanja - June 2 - 10:17 pmSI is a civic all grown up with all the bells and whistles. Had a 95 with 145000, ran perfect when I sold it. Just rusted. This car has good pick up even in fifth gear. Gas mileage is decent, use the cruise control. Better features inside, cup holders etc. than older models.

2002 Honda Civic Ex 4dr - 2002 Honda Civic
By luvmyhonda - May 28 - 10:00 amAlthough I have only had my Civic for a few weeks, I am really impressed with this car. It is a good balance between comfort, economy and performance. This car will certainly not win a drag race but even with the a/c on it still has enough power to keep me happy, not to mention that on my first road trip it managed to get almost 41 mpg! The ride is supple and well controlled. The steering is nimble and the turning radius is short. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and does not bog down or search between o/d and 4th while ascending a hill. The interior is laid out well and feels like good quality to the touch.

Satisfaction going from point A to B - 2002 Honda Civic
By Rob - May 25 - 6:22 amExcellent RELIABILITY is the bottom line here along with the NOTORIOUS Honda expected longevity makes it what it is, a great ride. Being a Civic it is not the luxury liner, but who wouldnt know that getting into it from the start? Works for me just fine as I am 510" 210#, anyone much larger would most likely make this model too small. Highly recommended for what it is. Change the oil, tires, maintain it as recommended and keep it clean and you will be a happy camper.

Great Car - 2002 Honda Civic
By Dustin_Samuel - May 15 - 2:00 amIve had my 2002 Civic for 3,000 miles and absolutely love it. I went from a 96 minivan to this and wow what a difference. Obvious improvements in gas mileage and reliability; I dont why I stuck with the van for so long. 5 speeds got plenty of kick. A little problem with misc. rattles on right door and windshield visor. Plenty of room for transportation in back seat and a surprisingly large trunk.

Civic- reliable, good mpg, bland styling - 2002 Honda Civic
By civic mania - April 29 - 10:00 amI have had my Civic for nearly a year and this car runs like it is still brand new. The manual is much more fun to drive than the automatic, and of course, could use a bit more pick up. But how can I complain when I average 34-36 MPGs in the Washington, D.C. area? I opted for the silver coupe with side air bags, security system (insurance discounts on both), fog lights, spoiler, 6-spoke wheels, and sunroof visor(not neccessary). This car was great in the snow with the OEM tires. Did not get stuck once. Overall when you buy a Honda you know what youre getting a reliable, practical car at a decent price.
