This Year's Model Updates:

Changes for the 2008 Honda CR-V are restricted to the EX-L trim level, which gains an eight-way power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control and the premium sound system that could previously only be had with the optional navigation system.

Pros:
  • Thoughtful interior design, high-quality interior materials, versatile cargo hold, quiet and comfortable ride, high crash test scores, agile handling.
Cons:
  • Engine and transmission can be overwhelmed by hilly stretches of highway.

Fun to drive. Could use more horsepower. Lots of room inside, but kinda plain. Could use a DVD player in the back, for kids. Havent seen the gas mileage as promised by the salesman, but its still pretty new.

  • The best choice in small SUV - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

As of now we have about 3500 miles on our CR-V and we are totally smitten with our purchase. We compared the Rav4, the small Jeeps and some others and figured we got the best value for the money with the EX model. Mileage is in the mid 20s hiway so far and we assume it will improve as the drivetrain loosens up a bit. It is mostly comfortable for drivers and passengers of all sizes, with plenty of leg- and headroom, and nice seats.

  • Very good handling and stylish interior - 2008 Honda CR-V

I chose CRV over its competition (including but not limited to RAV4) due to: 1. Exceptional handling - highly stable at high speeds, little/no body roll on curves and turnings. As a result, feels exceptionally great and fun to drive. 2. comfortable and stylish interior - Good dash features (digital fuel and mpg indicators), drop-down center console, elevated and adjustable rear seating with good legroom making long drives very comfortable. 3. Stylish exterior - looks great from all views. Spare tyre hidden underneath cargo. 4. Good resale value due to its high demand. My positive opinions havent changed after driving 3500 miles (under wide range of conditions). I get 21-22 mpg in city.

  • Functional and economical but not comfy - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

Have driven this vehicle about 15k in almost a year. Very functional for driving around town doing errands and the 20 mile commute to work. Drive slow and hwy gas mileage tops 34 mpg. City with easy accelerating tops about 29 mpg. Better than sticker says. Seats not very comfortable. Good visibility and very roomy. Seats fold down for ample space. Get a dark colored interior so you see less dirt. Seat fabric is difficult to remove dog hair - it sticks! Very reliable and quiet. Smooth driving. Would definitely buy another but maybe a fancier model. Never owned anything but a Honda!

  • Bonding with new 08 - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

I just purchased a new 08 CR-V EX and traded in my 06 EX CRV---love the new chassis design and the upgraded cabin. Hate the fact that I am driving an automatic for the first time 18 years...but its kind of nice to be a "lazy" driver! Not many more bells/whistles from my 06 but the redesign makes up for that--06 has VSA, side airbags, etc. The engine in automatic is just a big change and doesnt seem as responsive as I would like but I am still adjusting...ride is smooth and fun. This is my third CR-V and my SEVENTH Honda vehicle...Im a lifer.

Gets out of its own way nicely. Little rough on some bumps but overall a nice drive, on highway, excellent. Road noise minimum especially with optional floor mats I am very pleased with this vehicle looks wonderful with extras I put on getting 17-20 on local trips with stop and go in city got 31 on highway smooth little SUV

  • Would buy another Honda in a heart beat - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

Purchased this vehicle after having owned an 01 Civic. I have not owned anything other than cars, this was very comfortable and roomy. The gas mileage so far in mostly highway driving is about 23 mpg, but I only have about 300 miles on it right now.

  • Excellant Choice - 2008 Honda CR-V

We compared the CRV LX AWD to the Toyota Rav4 Base 4 cylinder 4x4. We got a much better deal on the Cr-v, and it was the better choice. The interior of the CR-V is designed much better than the Rav4, and the ride of the CR-V is quieter, and much smoother. On the Highway we have been averaging 32.5 MPG. We havent used the AWD yet but looking forward to the CR-V pulling us through the snow. The dash board controls are user friendly. The CR-V lets you know how many miles you have left before filling up which the Rav4 Base did not have. For a four cylinder engine you can not go wrong with this vehicle. If you can do without the sunroof, and other options the LX model has the same engine and body.

  • Wifes Car - 2008 Honda CR-V

It is a decent little SUV, flexible enough to haul some medium packages and still fun to drive. Acceleration onto Interstates is a little noisy but adequate. Cruising is a breeze and MPG was OK at 27 for a 2000 mile trip right off the lot. Coming out of a Lexus, the ride was a little "stiff" but vehicle tracked well and cruises along at 80 or so with no problem. I would expect more from Honda - compared to the larger Hyundai Sante Fe Limited, it didnt come close to the standard features, but definitely did in price. The sticker is pretty much what they want/get. Why did I get it, because my wife liked it - enough said. Given the competition would I do it again - probably not.

  • My 3rd CRV - 2008 Honda CR-V
    By -

This is my 3rd CRV, all body styles. I like this one best for quality inside and out. It does need hands free as standard equipment. Great ride and this is my 4th Honda and the best, never did use the picnic table. Glad I upgraded to the EXL. It handles better than previous models but I wish the rear gate had a split door, cannot get an extension ladder in there, great for the dogs, stuff and not as top heavy. Great layout of the digital dashboard and the fuel economy light, and love the lumbar support and the seat heaters (like my dads 1950 Studebaker). Honestly how can you beat a Honda for practicality, sensible layout and usefulness?
