The 2006 Honda Accord receives freshened interior and exterior styling and mechanical- and feature-related updates. Sharp eyes will notice the Accord's revised fascias and new alloy wheel designs. Minor engine tweaks, including drive-by-wire throttle control, result in a slight bump in horsepower for both the four-cylinder and V6 engine (a more significant development than you might think given the more stringent SAE testing procedures in effect this year). Additionally, the V6 sedan can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and all V6 models have revised suspension settings, 17-inch alloy wheels and stability control. Last year's DX has been replaced by the VP (Value Package) trim with standard air conditioning and cruise control, and LX V6 and Hybrid models gain a moonroof. The LX Special Edition includes alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and a CD changer. The Accord Hybrid also picks up stability control and a temporary spare tire in place of last year's flat-fix kit. Additionally, the Hybrid model's fuel economy rating drops from 29 city/37 highway to 25/34. Finally, all models get a smart maintenance system and daytime running lamps.

Great, refined car - 2006 Honda Accord

When ever I ride in a car that goes for about the same price range, I get back into my Accord and appreciate how nice it is. The seats are perfect for a long trip, and the car features a good amount of room in the rear and up front. I love how smooth the car transitions between acceleration ( which is quite good ) and braking. The car handles very well and the breaks are also impressive. The stereo system in the car is also great.

Almost Great - 2006 Honda Accord
By Allan T - February 6 - 3:06 amThe special edition Honda Accord(5 speed, 4 cyl) is a great value. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and gracefully. It seems that Honda could improve on the mileage if it would increase the final drive ratio on the 5th gear (runs about 2800 rpm at 65 mph). The air conditioning unit is great, but it has a noticeable drag on the acceleration and the gas mileage (-2 mpg when active). Overall we get about 29 mpg with our driving mix. The best highway mileage has been 35 mpg and the worst city mileage about 25 mpg. The SE version comes with the carbon fiber interior and cloth standard (we upgraded to the dealer installed leather and it is great).

4get the Hybrids! Dont give up size!! - 2006 Honda Accord
By R - February 5 - 3:33 pmI bought a manual shift 4 cylinder to save gas mileage and to better maintain control of the car... to have fun driving! I have done as well as 39 mpg highway driving, a little better than my 94 Accord stick shift. I use cruise more than the average person. Youre going to get fewer mpg when you use gas with ethanol added. With the stick, you dont need 6 cylinders. Couldnt believe I actually looked at and drove others before I got another Accord. Even owned a used Camry for 2 yrs (automatic), but it doesnt have the same drivability as an Accord.

Great Car - 2006 Honda Accord
By Pedrooch - January 27 - 2:32 amIve had my Accord EX V-6 3 years now, and Ive never had an ounce of trouble with it. This is my 3rd Honda and loved all of them. Ive driven cross country with it twice, and loved every mile. The car runs as good now as day I bought it. Except for routine maintenance, the only problems Ive had with it was a flat tire (I blame NYC streets) and burned out headlight. Tires are expensive for this car, the Michelin tires coast $270.00 a tire. If you are looking for a used car, you can never go wrong with a Honda.

By BeautifulOne - January 17 - 2:36 pmGreat car!!!! I love it!!!! For the last 2 years I had been driving a Volvo S80 T6 that kept breaking down on me. Finally, I said enough is enough, I went back to Honda. My Honda drives better than my Volvo did. The styling is great, the interior is great, and the ride is awesome. I missed driving a stick shift, so I had to get my new Accord with a stick, although I could have gotten the V6-6 speed (didnt want to pay for the extra gas with all the driving that I do) but the 4 cylinder 166 hp is great. Nice get up and go. Way to go Honda, same great car that I have come to know and love.

Great Great Great - 2006 Honda Accord
By JIM - December 28 - 3:40 amThis is truly "the" automobile. If there is anything negative to say, it would be that the back seats have no leg room. I am taller and need my seat back which eliminates legroom in the back. I dont need back seat so this is basically a 2 seater for me. I love this vehicle! I am never in a hurry to get anywhere anymore. In fact when I get there I wish I still had some more miles to cruise.

Sporty looking car (the V6 has enough power to back it up but the I-4 is a few ponies short). Everyone Ive had in the car has complimented it.
