Overview & Reviews
Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

- Roomy and stylish interior, tight build quality, smooth ride, powerful and efficient hybrid model, good crash test scores.
- Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful.

Newbob1 - 2005 Honda Accord
By NewBob - August 17 - 10:50 amI am very impressed with the power that the Accord 4-door Sedan Hybrids V6 engine with 255hp has. Addtionally, the car handles so smoothly and is so quite it sometimes is hard to realize the motors even running. I have gotten the gas mileage the EPA expects while on road trips, but slightly less while taking in-town trips.

2005 Honda Accord EXL V6 - 2005 Honda Accord
By Ray - August 10 - 2:26 pmI have only owned and operated this car for a week. My initial reaction is that this is one terrific car. It has the feel of a luxury car. It is solid, smooth, responsive, quiet and exudes quality. It is my second Honda and if the reliability experience with this car is similar to my first Honda, I will be one very satisfied Honda owner.

Love My Honda - 2005 Honda Accord
By Love My Honda - July 30 - 8:26 amI purchased this car new in Oct. 04, love it! Ive had it 4 years now and have had no mechanical problems other than having to replace a battery terminal, brakes twice, and working on my 2nd set of tires. No pause on acceleration, awesome zip. Ultra comfortable interior. Stereo is great. I will definitely be looking for a new Honda next year as I pass my down to the next child in line.

john henry - 2005 Honda Accord
By john henry - July 27 - 2:36 pmTough decison: Accord vs. Subaru Legacy. I won! I chose the Accord Coupe, EX V-6 coupe. What a car! One word: graceful! OK, two words, comfort too. Beats out my past cars: Volvo, Mini-Cooper, VW Jetta, MGB and Ford Explorer. Gotta be best car under $30,000. Very pleased buying this car. I love this car!

Great Value for the Money - 2005 Honda Accord
By deb - July 26 - 10:13 pmJust came off lease from a Volvo S60 and decided to get an Accord. This car was about $7000 less than the Volvo, and came with more features, more power, and a much smoother ride. Also has a roomier interior. Overall, a great deal for the $$. If you can afford it, go for a V-6 model. Has less road noise than the 4-Cyl model. Also, the EX has some nice luxury features. Love the car!!!

Battery Died -Towed Twice in One Day - 2005 Honda Accord
By BAC - July 20 - 6:35 pmOnly have 16,000 on this baby, owned under 3 yrs. and I was shocked when my battery died on a very hot day. My shop says it happens! He also said the breaks are fine, just noisy pads (after 10,000 noticed a slight squeal). Still like the car for what I paid under $18,000 everything included Cash. Nobody is perfect. Must last 10 yrs.

Follow up review - 2005 Honda Accord
By cal_cal - July 20 - 4:13 pmI wrote a review earlier when I first bought it. Now it is 3 months since I owned it. The car gives me 29 mpg in city and 33.5 mpg in highway driving between 70 and 85 MPH. While the fuel efficiency is great, the more important is that the ride is great and the interiors are well done. The car is still very smooth and a joy to ride. I still love washing it and keeping it shiny sparkly.
