Overview & Reviews
The biggest news is the availability of the AdvanceTrac stability control system. All Windstars have sliding doors on both sides for 2002. Entry-level LX models get upgraded appearance items, and buyers of this trim can opt for the Autovision entertainment system and 16-inch alloy wheels for the first time. The short-lived SE Sport model is dropped, and SE buyers can no longer have leather seats. Four new colors freshen the outside of the Windstar.
- Top-flight safety equipment and ratings, plenty of interior features and options, powerful V6 engine.
- Disconnected ride and handling, poor interior space utilization, noisy V6 engine.

Practicality and Value On Wheels - 2002 Ford Windstar
By Jerry Benson - October 25 - 2:00 amA "do everything" vehicle. No matter what ones lifestyle, this vehicle will accomodate it. And do it for a ridiculously modest initial price. Gas mileage is surprising ... 25 MPG on the highway. Great highway cruiser ... feels like a big (but agile) limo.

Windy in Indy - 2002 Ford Windstar
By OurlivesforHim - August 11 - 2:00 amWe bought our 2001 Sport SE used, and it has been great in the past year. We have put 12,000 miles on it. Only in the shop once for a day on a recall. No charge. I have an Accord, and have had many Hondas. The Oddy is nice, but the ride is much harsher, the engine works harder too. For a good of USA rig, this Windstar is well built, and running well at 26,000.

Works good for me! - 2002 Ford Windstar
By Bigol - July 21 - 2:00 amWindstar offers alot of bang for the buck! Although it is not the hottest selling minivan on the market, my family and I enjoy it! This is our second Windstar! No problems with either van but a minor recall on the drivers side floor mat hinge.

Our New SE - 2002 Ford Windstar
By Davidb - June 4 - 2:00 amWhat a great Van. We we adament against buying a mini-van until testing drive this van. This model far outshings the Honda/Madza/Dodge competing models we test drove/rented.

Windstar Sport - 2002 Ford Windstar
By A.I. - April 2 - 2:00 amWe have had the van for 3 months and are very satisfied with it. It has 4500KMs on it so far. We have taken it on 3 long road trips (3 hours at 130 - 140KPH) and the L/K (M/G) is great. We have been able to get 720KM, 705KM and 715KM on one tank of gas on the trips. In the city were getting between 500 - 550KMs. We owned a Taurus SE prior to this van and found the van drives just as nice as the Taurus. The 200HP engine helps on mountain roads and passing. The looks of the van are great as well. Black looks the best on this van. We will most likely buy the van at the end of the lease.

SE Sport Wins!! - 2002 Ford Windstar
By Ray - March 12 - 12:48 pmI have the SE Sport in Black, and both young and old stop to tell me how nice my van looks. It has the entertainment package and with that the kids are always behaving. The van has plenty of power and the interior in just as sporty as the outside. Overall I dont care for the looks of the windstar, but the sports package and spoiler gives it a look that no other van has. The only down side is Ive had to take it several times for recalls.
