  • I love this truck - 2002 Ford Ranger

I havent had many problems with this truck. It off roads great, it tows a lot and it looks great. I have a friend with a Tacoma and it has nothing compared to my truck. The difference is a go cart and a real truck. I have 31" tires and a 2 lift and abuse my truck like you wouldnt believe. But it takes it and wants more. I would strongly recommend this truck to anyone.

  • Nice Starter Truck - 2002 Ford Ranger

I bought the truck completly stock with a 3.0L V6 2 wheel drive with 56,000 miles on it. I then turned around put an American Thunder series flowmaster exhuast system on it with a K&N air filter on it. Later on I put a 3 inch lift kit keeping the same rims but putting 31 inch BFG Mud-terrians on it and the stance is really nice. Before all the add ons were put on it, I got great gas mileage on the truck but afterwards, the gas mileage stinks. But other than that, light towing and going around town isnt bad. But if you are looking for strong performance in a small truck, look elseware.

  • Feel the power... - 2002 Ford Ranger

Ive had the truck for almost one year now and I love it. It has all kinds of power with the 4.0, but will suck the tank dry very quickly if you dont take it easy. It is capable of 20mpg on the highway, but I find myself unable to drive slow enough to achieve that very often. The only other complaint I have is the 6CD changer. It likes to jam up after it gets good and hot on long trips. The truck is pretty easy to work on, so I have no complaints. I only wish I had bought a 5-speed and not an automatic trans.

  • I Love It! - 2002 Ford Ranger

Replaced my aging Toyota of 20 years with this new Ranger. Would have bought another Toyota but the local dealership was HORRIBLE. Had an excellent buying experience with Phil Long Ford. Told them the TMV price I was willing to pay, and there was no hassles. Truck is excellent. Decent power, with a good ride. I will have to take it in for minor warranty with the rear doors, as they seem to be picky in closing securely, especially when it is extremely cold. I plan on staying with Ford.

  • Great Truck! - 2002 Ford Ranger

I have had this truck for 5 years and have had no problems. Runs great. The mileage could be better, but isnt bad considering the 4.0l motor.

  • Great work truck - 2002 Ford Ranger

Not the fastest, or the strongest out there but a good work truck that is a great value. Easy to work on, and maintain.

  • Excellent Choice - 2002 Ford Ranger

I purchased the 2002 Ranger Edge to replace my 1999 Mustang because my wife and I needed the cargo space. I could not be more happy with the choice. I have spent a lot of time travelling with work and lived in Japan for 3 years, so the truck has very low mileage (just went over 25k). All I have had to do is change the oil, and purchase new battery/tires when I got back from Japan. It runs like a champion.

  • Great truck...but - 2002 Ford Ranger

I have not had a problem with my Edge 4wd. The only complaint I have is the gas mileage. If Im lucky Ill get 13 mpg hiway! If I had known mileage was this bad I would have bought an F150 or F250. Other that that it is a great truck. I have had for 6 years and the only thing I had to put on were brakes and front rotors. It now has 128,000 miles on it.

  • Nice truck, Terrible Fuel Economy - 2002 Ford Ranger
    By -

Ive been looking around for my first vehicle for the last 2 years. I really wanted a car, which could tow a 2000lb trailer. I eventually gave up the struggle and bought a Ranger. It was the 4.0L with every option except 4wd. All my friends/ family love it. I was so happy with my purchase... until I started filling it up. It has terrible fuel economy. Im very light footed and I average 11mpg city and 18mpg highway with cruise on 60mph. (Worst fill-up so far was 9.5mpg) Also, the 6-disc CD changer went on me the first time I put a CD in it. It jammed up on me. I love the towing capabilities and the features (air, cruise, power everything, strong engine), but the fuel economy is terrible.

  • Go Go Power Rangers - 2002 Ford Ranger

I purchased the edge because I needed the utility of a truck. I have been very pleased with the truck. It drives nice, on and off road, it hauls what I need, and gets me where I need to go---thats what a truck is for. It isnt fast with the 3.0 though, but it is enough.
