6SPD AUTO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS - 2010 Ford Fusion
By soccerguy48025 - March 20 - 9:35 pmBeware!!! A simple internet search will reveal tons of problems with the 6F35 auto trans in the 2010 Fusion and Escape. My car is experiencing problems with frequent shift flaring, which will then be followed by a hard shift and forward jolt. This jolt caused me to hit another car in front of me thus damaging my chrome grille. The car will also shift into neutral by itself at times creating a dead spot in acceleration. After software reprograms, new valve body, and complete overhaul including new clutches, my car now drives significantly worse. The trans now struggles and is very sloppy overall. Now, my transaxle shaft seal is leaking fluid and clutch material has been found in the fluid.

Just a bad Ford experience, never again! - 2010 Ford Fusion
By reverence - January 23 - 8:19 pmThe car had a number of problems, every manufacturer will have them but its how the company handles them, Ford failed miserably. The most serious was the transmission, it did not shift properly, it slipped, and it made whining noises. I got nothing but a run around from the dealership and from Ford. I see where many others are having the same problems. The car had a build date of 6/10 which was suppose to be after the factory fix but obviously they have not figured it out yet. This went on for 6 months and finally I had enough and sold the car for a major lose. I laugh when I see the Ford commercials now about quality and commitment.

Not the quality I expected - 2010 Ford Fusion
By charly - November 23 - 2:00 amWe liked the sync system and the styling, thats why we bought it. Right off we noticed that the 4cylnder engine is under-powered. If I were to do it again I would spring for the v6 but I wont be. I am really disappointed in the build quality. I passed up on a Camry because of the high ratings of the fusion and now I am regretting it. After 8 months of ownership and 6 trips to the service department not including scheduled maintenance, Im taking a loss and getting out as soon as I can. An 8 month old car should not have weather stripping and window seals failing. only 2 reasons for this, poor quality or poor craftsmanship.

Dont Buy - 2010 Ford Fusion
By Don Grant - June 29 - 9:54 amSEL 3.o 6spd Trans failed at 1500 mi. The repair was to rebuild the trans and reprogram the PCM. Now when you take your foot off the gas there is a severe down shift. This is robbing me of 4-5 mpg. Also the car does not perform the way it did before the reprogram. This is not the robust fun car I agreed to purchase and the downshifting is very irritating. Also I do not believe that it is safe to downshift on ice. Ford says that "it performs as designed". No it is performing as REDESIGNED and it is NOT acceptable! Ford customer "I dont care department" says "SORRY". How on earth is this "car of the year"? Save yourself some grief Do Not Buy This Car! Ford will not take care of you!

Going Back to Honda Soon - 2010 Ford Fusion
By Jeff - June 21 - 2:53 amDisappointing fuel economy (not as good as window sticker indicates), dont be fooled by Fords deceptive advertising! Most of all the cool new features of this car come from Sony, Microsoft, visteon, etc. Etc. Disappointing quality, this car is jam packed loaded with electrical gremlins (reverse sensors & air bags), transmission flaws, cheap parts, and engineering/design flaws galore. At 4500 miles door latches are starting to break. Has anyone noticed the totally useless sun visor that blocks the entire view of the road when folded down? Overall level of refinement is extremely disappointing and lagging when compared to rivals. Why so much money on advertising Ford? Poor dealer treatment

Not a happy first time Ford owner - 2010 Ford Fusion
By T Jessen - June 25 - 11:33 amBought a Ford for the first time (Fusion SE) The car seemed to struggle as it automatically shifted through the gears. Dealer couldnt find a problem & the husband insisted there was. My husbands thought was to have them drive it for at least a 60 mile period as he noticed more on his work days. Manager took the car home, put a monitor on the car and suddenly the found a problem. They told us it was a defect in the transmission and they would replace it. Only 6500 miles? Warranty on the trans doesnt start over and some owners had 2 or 3 transmissions replaced. Defect on the fuel filler (new part installed.Took for granted my automatic lights on my buick. This 2010 Ford doesnt have them???
