Overview & Reviews
Four new Focus models debut for 2002: the ZX5 five-door hatchback, the well-equipped ZTW wagon, the sport-tuned SVT hatchback and the Mach Audio ZTS. No matter what Focus you pick in 2002, a power moonroof can now be ordered. The high-end ZTS Sedan loses its standard ABS and crummy fake wood dash trim while gaining a rear spoiler. An in-dash six-disc CD changer is standard on ZX5, ZTS and ZTW but optional on all other Foci except the LX Sedan.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

2002 Focus Review - 2002 Ford Focus
By Leroy - April 2 - 2:00 amVehicle is very reliable and has a much better ride than I thought when I purchased it. The engine is quite petty and allows you to transition into highway traffic quite easily. The fuel economy is very good too. I plan to buy another one this year.

Fun car - 2002 Ford Focus
By BigJrff - March 31 - 10:00 amTight, crisp handling on 16-inch low profile (205x50) tires. Delivers decent power from a sweet sounding, twin-cam engine at 4-6000 RPM. Precise rack and pinion steering gives good feedback. Very comfortable inside. Lots of room for big people. Nice sound system with 6 cd changer in the dash. Good ergonomics. Neat, edgy exterior and interior styling. Flexible cargo carrying configurations possible with 60-40 fold down rear seats (which are also quite comfortable). Good head and legroom front and rear.

Focus Forever! - 2002 Ford Focus
By Chelly - February 15 - 2:00 amFell in love with the look...Now the whole experience. Excellent handling & response. Great fuel economy, I have a 2002 ZX3 and Im averaging 28-32mpg. Not bad for a 2.0 that gets a good workout from time to time. Speed, pick-up, 0-60...All FANTASTIC! The most I hear from ppl. is "nice car, how do you like it?" "Roomy inside...you wouldnt know it by the outside." "I want one!" Love this car!

Focus on this - 2002 Ford Focus
By Puddin - January 24 - 2:00 amI just purchase this car ( my second ). I have heard some horror stories about the focus. I love my car. I bought it brand new off showroom floor. The brakes squealed for awhile, but it stopped after two days. It turn heads due to the new color of Light Tundra. It looks grey at night, but its light green( teal looking ). ^he Cd/Mp3 is great to be factory installed.

Great car so far... - 2002 Ford Focus
By Dingle - December 24 - 10:00 amBought the car 2 weeks ago and been having fun ever since. Sporty looking and great driving. I havent noticed anything wrong with the car yet - not even a dust blemish on the paint. It drives like my in-laws Mercedes C180 Sport (German model): solid driving experience, just needs more power and low-end torque. MPG havent been close to EPA specs, but I havent spent much time cruising on the freeway.

Fun Car - Great Value - 2002 Ford Focus
By Steveinorange - December 24 - 10:00 amThe Focus ZX5 or 3 is the best value for your money. Ive had it a little over a month and I cant complain. I test drove one with an automatic trans and found the manual is by far the better choice. The auto is too sluggish with a small engine. My ZX5 came with leather seats, sunroof, antilock brakes, power windows, door locks etc., all for under $14,000 with dealer discounts and mfg rebates. The ride is ok, but you have to remember, this is not a Grand Marquis, it is a small car. The ride is just as good or better than other small cars. Its fun to drive too.

Excellent - 2002 Ford Focus
By Hwrd - November 14 - 12:40 pmFord has done a nice job of building an ecomomical car with a lot of nice features. I am just as happy with it as the Corolla I owned before it. I have 36K miles on it and its still as good as new. The service department has been excellent; (had one complaint - the window had a slight rattle). The service dept promptly addressed the issue, gave us a free rental and we have never had a problem since.

Id Buy It Again - 2002 Ford Focus
By Dan - September 11 - 10:43 pmI had a Subaru wagon and loved it. I would have bought another but the price was twice that of the Focus. This was the 1st American car I had bought in over 20 years and quality and dependability were concerns of mine. I will have the car 3 years in August and almost 40,000 miles now. There was one very minor flaw at the time of delivery, and only regular maintenance since. I am very happy with my Focus.
