This Year's Model Updates:

Four new Focus models debut for 2002: the ZX5 five-door hatchback, the well-equipped ZTW wagon, the sport-tuned SVT hatchback and the Mach Audio ZTS. No matter what Focus you pick in 2002, a power moonroof can now be ordered. The high-end ZTS Sedan loses its standard ABS and crummy fake wood dash trim while gaining a rear spoiler. An in-dash six-disc CD changer is standard on ZX5, ZTS and ZTW but optional on all other Foci except the LX Sedan.

Pros:
  • Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.
Cons:

  • Focus is a fun kids car - 2002 Ford Focus

The Focus is a good kids car but for a family of four it is a little too small. The arm rest in the Focus could be looked at as weak and needs to be looked at by Ford, as well as the fuel pump. I have owned 2 Ford Focus and have replaced 4 fuel pumps and 2 arm rests. Other than that the car is fun to drive and gets good gas mileage. Good luck and fun safe driving. :)

Fun to drive. I never imagined that i would get this kind of performance from a 4 cylinder engine. Just bought it so far I love this car.

  • Great car for college students! - 2002 Ford Focus
    By -

I have had this car since I was 16. Now I am in college and drive a ton. The fuel efficiency is great, I can get up to 350 miles on one tank. It is extremely fun to drive, has great handling. Its very spacious, including the trunk. The rear suspension is not adjustable and can be very pricey to get repaired if damaged.

  • focus good car - 2002 Ford Focus

I have put 37000 miles on this car in a year and a half and have not had any trouble with it whatsoever. It is fun to drive gets good mileage and is cheap to maintain. I always recommend this car to anyone who asks and when it comes time to trade it in I will probably buy another Ford product. This car beats my old Civic hands down especially in the "fun-to-drive" category.

  • Runs Great BUT Eats Tires - 2002 Ford Focus
    By -

I researched many different brands of cars in the same price category before choosing the 2002 Ford Foucs SE Comfort Sedan. I love the styling, the interior especially the tilt/telescoping steering wheel and the height adjustable drivers seat. I am tall at 6 ft 2 in. so many small cars were just way too small. The Focus fits nicely without making me look like a clown unfolding from a clown car. At almost 4 years old I have had few problems other than excessive tire wear. I replace my tires every 20000 miles or less from the first 20000 miles on.

  • The Sun is Rising in the West - 2002 Ford Focus

Wow, my supercharged zx3 barely nosed out the stock svt. Thats when i knew i had to have one. This car handles as if you are on a rail, not only that it will pull you away from the curb a lot faster then those eastearn pocket rockets.

  • Made in USA? - 2002 Ford Focus
    By -

I was recently at a local Ford dealer, who had a huge selection of Focus automobiles, and not one was "made in the USA" : all arrived...legally...from south of the border. That aside, the Focus appears to be very well built and a solid performer overall.

  • FUN FUN FUN!!! - 2002 Ford Focus

I just bought a 2002 Focus ZX5 and I love it. It is very confortable and runs great. Mine has leather seats, power moonroof 6 disk cd changer and many other perks. I think this is the best thing Ford has done in years.

  • I love this car! - 2002 Ford Focus

I just raved about this car for the first two weeks I had it. I still love it just as much. (How can you really "love" a car)? The independent rear suspension adds a lot to the ride and handling. The car came standard with everything I wanted. Somedays I get up and think of someplace to go just so I can get to drive my Focus wagon. There are so many nice things about this car.

  • Love My Focus ZX3 - 2002 Ford Focus

I have the 2.0L Zetec/5spd manual, and I must echo everyone else, it doesnt impress you with power. Although I do get 30mpg on the highway regularly going 75mph. Its very spacious inside, well thought out ergonomics, superior driving dynamics, above average stereo, quiet on the highway, and plenty of power items. I dont have much to complain about.
