By heavy - November 28 - 10:00 amNice in many ways, comfort, style and performance. Very good build quality and paint is smooth. I have the 5.4 liter and there was no selection on this review menu for my configuration. I am getting 16-17 miles on the hwy.

By ThugsRus - September 26 - 10:00 amI have no worries about this Truck. Built ford tough is right. I go driving just for the heck of it. This thing is so awsome. And the girls love it. Im the first person I know to own a 04 Lightning. Now 2 of my buddies are going to get one. Good Job Ford

Needs More ...Still - 2004 Ford F-150
By TOD404 - August 14 - 10:00 amAfter owning a GM for the past 3 years, this truck does not handle as well. It may be the hieght of the truck or it may be the chassis/suspension. All I know is I cannot corner as well as my old truck. Power wise, even though I have the 5.4L, it just doesnt seem to have the response I am looking for. I seem to be pushing the accelerator more than I am used to. I hope with more break in miles, this will improve.

Short on POWER & POOR mileage - 2004 Ford F-150
By joe hubbard - July 22 - 10:00 amUnit came low in transmission fluid! It has rough shifting up& down! Air is not functioning properly! It starts blowing hot air set on 70 without having cooled unit! If I lower thermostat it cools again for a while! Mileage on road 14.2 @ 70! Has no power! My 97 4.6 was better performing! Owning FORD STOCK, I am very concerned! It could just be "THE ONLY LEMON"! I have been to ford shop & after having it 6 days it was as delivered! NOT FIXED!

By Moses - July 20 - 4:40 pmThis truck is very reliable, and very powerful for its size. With the 5.4 Liter V8, towing and off-road capabilities are almost limitless. However, I have encountered shifting problems with the automatic transmission very early on. The interior isnt very comfortable for long trips. The interior build is questionable as well; lots of plastic parts that can break very easily. I am very hard on my vehicles, and change almost every 5 years, and this truck has held up better within the first year of ownership than any other Ford vehicle Ive driven. Overall, it is a reliable vehicle and very fun to drive.

Poor Quality - 2004 Ford F-150
By RLL - June 8 - 12:56 amQuality not there. Had all four wheels replaced. Drivers window replaced. Steering wheel not aligned.Still have vibration in steering column. Windshield reflections drive me nuts, or is the winshield wavy? Should of gotten a GMC. Brakes squeal. Should have known better than to buy a first year truck.

Rough idle - 2004 Ford F-150
By herman poppell - April 21 - 2:00 amThis is a great truck but the 5.4 has a rough idle. This problem is noted in special service massage, 18116 Setember1, 2004 (Fords OASIS) but no fix as yet. We hope for the fix soon.

By rick moss - March 16 - 10:00 amI have had this truck for approximately a month. I drove it from Georgia to Wyoming right after I bought it. It rides exceptionally well. Much better than some I have owned. No wind noise.
