Overview & Reviews
The 2008 Ford Edge gets more luxury and convenience features. Highlights include Ford's "Sync" system (which allows voice operation of cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players and USB storage devices), an optional power liftgate and a voice-activated navigation system. This year also sees a new Limited trim level, which replaces last year's SEL Plus.
- Quiet and comfortable ride, agile handling, potent V6, all major safety features are standard, roomy cabin.
- Questionable brakes, lackluster interior design and materials, low maximum cargo capacity.

Love my 2008 Ford Edge AWD - 2008 Ford Edge
By D Baker - January 3 - 11:51 amFirst owner of this vehicle. Absolutely love it. Buying a new one this year just like it. Great ride, fast acceleration, great radio. Could do better on gas mileage, Sync system for cell phones and more backward mobility on drivers seat. Overall a wonderful SUV. Have never had any problems with it. At 62,000 miles right now.

Great Vehicle - 2008 Ford Edge
By Bill - August 7 - 7:50 amVehicle currently has 180,000 miles on it and has been an amazing car. Mechanically, no major problems have ever arose. I did have to do the rear wheel bearings at 150k. Besides that and your typical brakes, tires, and tune ups car has been flawless. It does have good power and excellent AWD system. Does great in northern Wisconsin winters. I drive about 60% hwy and average just over 21 mpg with aggressive driving, so gas mileage isnt great but worth it with the quality of the vehicle. Highly recommend if youre looking for an AWD crossover thats well built.

I usually dont give 5 star reviews - 2008 Ford Edge
By djscotec - May 12 - 7:22 pmBought my Edge at the beginning of 2009, was a demo with 9000 miles, to this date i just went over 52000 miles. Knock on wood ive had very little problems with the vehicle, mechanically or electronically. the rear tail lights burn out unusually fast, should have a recall on this. the sockets appear scorched. other than that its been basic maintenance on the vehicle. i changed the transmission oil at 50000 miles just to be safe. I also change the oil every 4000 miles with full synthetic mobil 1. the oil still looks good after 4000 miles! the front end seems to be riding hard as of late but it may need some gas struts replaced, most of my miles are city driving and joy riding

A Very Luxurious Vehicle - 2008 Ford Edge
By robey_1 - August 30 - 12:16 pmI purchased my 2008 Ford Edge in October 2010 about 10 months ago. So far, I am very happy. There was only one issue that I had which was covered under my auto Tran. This vehicle drives very smooth, like a car, and is very comfortable. The leather interior and the beautiful exterior (powder blue) gives this vehicle a very luxurious look. People cannot believe when I tell them that the vehicle was just under $20,000. Overall, I would highly recommend the Edge as it is like a luxury vehicle without the price tag!

Great Car - Fun to Drive - 2008 Ford Edge
By illini025 - July 30 - 2:59 pmWe love this car. Fun to drive, and the AWD handles great in the snow and ice. We bought it new and now have 40K miles on it. We can fit a ton in this car too. We have two kids in car seats, and make frequent overnight trips with strollers, luggage, etc. Our only problem so far has been the power lift gate would not stay up at times (around 30K miles). Dealer fixed it (under warranty) with a computer reset and its worked perfectly ever since. We would definitely recommend the Edge!

Poor AC Flow - 2008 Ford Edge
By AD - August 14 - 8:44 amI am very much in love with my Edge, except for the poor AC flow. It worked great for a year and now I cant get it above 80 degrees. We all sweat in my car and bought a fan to put in the back seat. Hopefully Ford can fix this problem and not let a good car go to waste!

Awesome Ride - 2008 Ford Edge
By Coach - July 18 - 6:04 pmHad my Edge for 2 yrs. No issues what so ever. SYNC is the best invention EVER! Have no issues mating any phones with the sync system. Nav system is easy to use. The seats are more comfortable than my wifes new Cadillac SRX . One and only one issue that keeps raising its head is the trim on the roof (panoramic roof) rattles.

Thank You Ford! - 2008 Ford Edge
By Happy Edge Owner - July 12 - 10:16 pmAfter test driving many different cross overs, I decided on the Edge. It was the most comfortable to drive, had more to offer than the others and for a good price too. I custom built my SEL in White Sands, Tan w/black stitching interior, Sync that works better than my husbands Acura TL, Rear Lift gate, Towing package that gave me a bigger radiator, Roof Rack, and more. Back seats offer flexibility by lowering one or both. Plenty of room for hauling stuff. Ive had it for two years now, taken it on long trips with no problems. I like to ask my husband "have I told you how much I love my Edge lately? Its by far the best vehicle Ive ever had.

Like it a lot! - 2008 Ford Edge
By tt - June 15 - 3:00 pmAfter driving & owning 3 New Explorers (which I really like) I traded my last Explorer in on a new Escape. BIG mistake, did not like the Escape as it was too small and had cheaply made interior, traded it in after owning it 2 years onto an EDGE SEL AWD, am very happy with it. Gets about the same gas mileage as the Escape but rides SO much nicer.
