The enthusiast-oriented Dodge Caliber SRT4 makes its debut this year, bringing with it a turbocharged 285-horsepower engine. The rest of the 2008 lineup is pretty much unchanged. Caliber SXT and R/T models have some additional standard equipment this year, and all Calibers get new chrome accents within their cabins.

Great Little Car! - 2008 Dodge Caliber
By Doug - July 11 - 6:21 pmI tested several similar cars and liked all of them but decided on the 08 Caliber. I have to say that I love this car and dont regret for a second the decision to buy it. I got the SXT with 2.0 and CVT and average 29-31 mpg consistently mostly driving to work and back. The CVT shifts smoothly and effortlessly and overall has a lot of pep, steering system is tight and responsive, ride is smooth and comfortable. I have owned nothing but GM and Honda vehicles for the past 20 years but went out on a limb and went with Dodge this time. I must admit that Im quite impressed with this little car. Great job, Dodge!

Love My 1st Car! - 2008 Dodge Caliber
By Tera - June 4 - 9:34 pmI am a 21 yr old college student. I was recently looking for my 1st car and the caliber wasnt my 1st choice. Originally wanted an Aveo. I dont really know how I became interested in the caliber because I didnt know anything about them. Bought a 2008 SE and I absolutely love it. It rides really good, great stereo system and pretty cool features. I believe if ever I traded it in it would be for a newer model caliber! Just awesome!

By mrzalicia - March 29 - 11:53 amI would have to say im impressed with its room for me and my three kids. The gas mileage is great, especially in todays economy we need a car good on gas. It could be a little more stylish inside maybe a ipod connection like some cars are doing, there are some blind spots but over all I am a happy Dodge Caliber owner.

By roadtripper - February 26 - 11:39 pmRecently wrote off my Cali with 37000kms on it. Snowy road, skidded out, flipped over the snowbank, hit 3 trees and landed on the passenger side. Passenger and I got out without a scratch or bruise. Definitely SAFE! I loved this car, amazingly comfortable on long road trips which we took 3-4x/yr and my friends were always surprised that all the luggage fit. 4 snowboards and 4 people with their bags was easy. CVT is so fuel efficient, smooth, and easy to drive in traffic. Averaged 33 MPG (7.1L/100km) mixed hwy/city. Really a car that fits into your life. Only because we do a lot of winter driving, Im looking to replace it with a Subaru Impreza for the AWD, but I know Ill miss some features.

Excellent Safety! - 2008 Dodge Caliber
By sheristroop - November 12 - 2:37 pmMy husband recently purchased a Caliber in July and then rear-ended a 1990s model car that was at a complete stop. No one had a scratch on them. The 3 front airbags deployed, with minimal airbag burn and the seat belts worked perfectly. Even the cars frame held up, though the insurance company ended up totalling the car due to engine damage. My 5 year old son was in a booster seat in the back and didnt even know what had happened. I would definitely buy another one of these cars - great value and safety!

By JerryK - November 2 - 7:43 pmMy first new car since my 98 Grand Caravan. This car impressed me right from the test drive. The reviews mention a slow response of the CVT. Hogwash,the 2.0L w/CVT moves like a jack rabbit. My previous Mopars had lousy headlights, backup lights, and brakes. All are improved on this car. I can finally see the road on a rainy night. The SXT model is nicely equipped. Great car to take back and forth to work everyday. Very comfortable.

By SteveLewis - October 29 - 10:59 amI love this car. The CVT shifts seamlessly, and this car takes off like a rocket!!! If you keep your foot off the floor, it gets excellent gas mileage. Ive got almost 38k miles on this car, and it still runs like it did when it was new. The steering system is tight! It corners like a compact, and has a lot of power for a four-cylinder. Go Dodge!!!

By Mocheezmo - October 16 - 2:14 pmI get giddy reading the reviews that Edmunds has for this car. Obviously 1 of 2 things. The reviewer has never actually driven the car or they dont know how to drive. This car is unbelievable! Funny I checked the curb weight and the WRX is 100 lbs heavier, guess Edmunds reviewers cant do math either. Put the Mopar stage 1 in this thing (stage 2 is now coming) and you are running over 300 ponies at the wheel with the torque (sorry ricers) to back it up! I will admit the weight distribution could use some work but nothing some basic mods wont solve. I picked mine up for under $19k, with less than $3k in mods I could walk any lancer of WRX $ for $ out their, period.

By xjerseygirlx - July 18 - 2:19 pmIm also not sure why Edmunds hates this car! I have a SXT 2.0L CVT trans - red with black & red sport seats & red around the stereo. I LOVE MY CAR!! In my opinion, & also that of those whove been in my car, the interior DOES NOT look cheap. I took this car on a small road trip to go camping the day after I took it home & it was perfect for that. The seats were comfortable on the drive, it fit everything in it that we needed, we didnt even notice any road noise with the awesome stereo on (oh & to those of you complaining about not being able to see title & names on the radio/Sirius all you have to do is press the "info" button & it shows that stuff)...all in all this is a great car

By John - April 3 - 9:06 amIve put 30k on my car and I loved every mile. the power and fuel economy is like having your cake and eating it too. Handling is smooth around the turns even at high speeds and ESP makes it safe in bad weather conditions. This thing stops on a dime and will launch like a rocket!
