This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

  • Great Vehicle! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Great to drive! Very classy looking vehicle. I was torn on what color to choose...ended up with red and I am thrilled with it! It is very comfortable and roomy. The kids are finally NOT kicking the front seats (which happened regularly in my Town & Country)

I love my Pacifica! I have driven it for 6 months now and it is by far the funnest, most comfortable, family friendly, stylish car we have ever owned or leased. We have driven to Southern CA in it when it was 2 months old (to us) and it was a beuatiful drive. Very quiet and a smooth ride. Overall, I am very happy with everything in and on my Pacifica.

I have the 05 touring model with 19" wheels. Living in the northeast the AWD with 19" wheels has proven to be unstoppable in winter. Overall, no problems with the vehicle. I have returned to dealer twice for factory recalls, but did not experience any recall related problems.

I owned a Dodge Durango that I traded on this Pacifica. Th durango more resembled a truck than a car.I get better gas mileage in town with the pacifica , than I did on the road with the Durango

I purchased my Pacifica in June of 2004 and have been delighted with it ever since. I took it on a trip to Canada to visit family and the mileage was almost 28 mpg. With Canadian gas at roughly 4 bucks a gallon this meant a lot. It is a good looking car thats fun to drive. Its got some head turning looks, too. My only complaint is that the rear window should be wider.

We purchased the pacifica two weeks ago, so I really cant speak to its reliability, but so far we are happy with its handling and comfort. We have the front wheel drive version and it seems to handle well in snowy consitions. The inside is roomy and makes tou feel like you are in a much larger vehicle. As we have found with most Chrysler vehicles the seat belts are difficult to find and release.

  • Pacifica Signature Series AWD - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

The vehicle has been outstanding. The true test was in February when we had an ice storm. There were 4wd vehicles skidding all over the road and the Pacifica went straight up the hill and my nerves were put at ease. This vehicle is so much fun to drive and comfort, comfort, comfort. I would highly recommend the Pacifica to anyone who likes to have the extra room with sedan comfort and quiet ride. I only wish we had bought one sooner.

  • Its not a minivan! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I really like driving my Pacifica. Its great for scooting around town or long trips out of state. It is easy to get the kids in and out and they enjoy the ride also. Its a great vehicle for the mom that doesnt want to be a minivan mom. It rides fantasticly and the buffeting noise is an easy fix with a small adjustment in any window.

  • Rides and Handles Like A Dream - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

The Pacifica was the perfect car for me. The ride and handling are really impressive. Most of my driving is inner city and my SUV handles like a sports car while darting in and out of traffic. The suspension is firm enough to corner well, but still smooth enough for the sunken streets and potholes of New Orleans. I have carried five full sized teenage boys across Louisiana to playoff basketball games in comfort. The rear seats offer ample head and leg room. The Infinity surround sound system and DVD player provides the highest fidelity of all the other autos I test drove. My 3.8L engines allows me to pass just about everything on the road but a gas station. I get 16/24 MPG.

  • Year and a half, strong solid car - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Ive had my Pac for about a year and a 1/2 now and I can honestly say I really enjoy it. If you drive low mileage, this may not be the car for you. My mileage was great at 22 mpg when my commute was 20 miles each way, but now that its 4, Im down to 16 mpg. Aside from that, this car drives great. it turns so tight and smooth and its responsive to the wheel and the pedal, with enough juice to get you going if you need to accelerate. More than a few people have told me that my Pac is a joy to drive. The guy that fixed my tire for me was like "I was tempted to just keep driving. Thats a great car".
