This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

Purchased car 2 months ago and have driven physically had it maybe 3 wks it has been back to the dealer sitting there because it would just shut off while driving. No matter where you are on the highway, back roads doing 60 or 20 making turns or going straight it will just shut off then hopefully you can coast safely to the side. It hasnt killed anyone yet so Chrysler has "no fix" As we speak it sits in clinton with "no fix" and I have a great rental, may i recommend the Yukon? Its a reliable car!

The moon roof exploded and pushed the glass in small pieces up and out of the vehicle. Glass came back into the vehicle. The dealership was not concerned with safety. They were unable to understand the safety concern. A 2nd moon roof was installed. The weatherproof strip buckled in less than a day. The dealership could not explain the previous so we were concerned this buckling may create the same accident. The owner of Norco Motors Pacifica moon roof has no signs buckling. A 3rd moon roof will be installed in the vehicle. They apologize that we feel unsafe. They are sure we are not. They cannot explain why it happened.

Ive had my Pacifica for less than two months now and so far Ive had it in the shop 5 times and going for #6. The concept behind the Pacifica is very good however the build quality on this vehicle is horrible. The drivers side floor board is always wet due to a leak that they cant seem to find. Ive also had a computer system go bad and it just went out again yesterday and now there is a clunk in the rear when you go over bumps. I couldnt pass up the lease special on this car, thats why I bought it. I cant wait until my lease is up. It fits my familys needs very well however It should be parked in my driveway all the time and not the dealership.

I purchased the Pacifica over a year ago. In the beginning it was nice. Gas has been an issue with it, also very little storage space. Not comfortable on a drive over 2 hrs. Warning lights pop up every time it is cold and my cruise control works 1/2 the time. It has been towed away at least 4 times in past year for lights blinking until battery dies, seat belt jams a lot, airbag light is on for no reason found by mechanics at chrysler. I get compliments on the looks of it but when asked how i like it I have to be honest and say dodge caravan is a lot better!

  • Love/Hate Relationship - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

My husband is in love with this car. Very smooth ride. The kids love their captains chairs. However, its been in for service 11 days already - weve owned it just over a month. Engine control computer and radio replaced, work done to power liftgate, and now we have a possible suspension problem. I dont like how noisy the engine is, but thats just a personal thing with me.

  • Electrical Problems up the Wazzooooo - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I have had my Pacifica for a little over seven months. The first couple were great. I have had nothing but problems with it lately. In the last couple months I have put in a new dash cluster, new headlights, and a new AC/heat unit (because the display panel went out). It also broke down on me during a short roadtrip, something with the air in-take or out-take. While it looks nice, it is not a cheap car and it should not have this many problems. Yes, everything so far has been under warranty, but as much as I drive the warranty isnt going to last that much longer. Then I will be screwed, electrical problems are not cheap.

I dislike my 2004 Pacifica and if I had it all to do over I would not have purchased it. The V6 at times is under powered, due to the fact that the car is extremely heavy. This also takes a toll on the gas mileage, which is much much lower than the sticker and most reviews indicate. In addition my 2004 has been having a belt issue that has not been resolved after 2 trips back to the shop. My car has been under repair so much that Im beginning to feel like the dealership loaner PT is my actual car. I would not recommend this car to anyone.

The car has 4,000 miles on it and has been in the shop over 12 days. The majority of these days are for the fan belt pully replacement. When accelarating a slipping noise occurs. They attempted 3 times to fix. Now this week the check engine light came on and blinked rapidly. Called the dealer and they said not to drive and sent a flat bed to pick it up. They said that a computer board needed to be replaced. I have the car for about 70 days of which 12 have been in the shop. Not too happy with Chrysler.

  • Watch your expectations - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I recently bought an 04 AWD Pac. to replace my 99 Caravan. The Pac. looks great inside and out, but isnt really meeting my expectations. I expected a car that I could drop the kids off at the bus stop and then turn loose for the morning commute. Unfortunately two items are really disappointing so far. 1) Acceleration stinks -- Despite 250 hp, this car feels SLOW. Basically expect minivan speed, no more. 2) Interior comfort -- The seats are very uncomfortable for tall people and even the "upgraded stereo" sounds tinny. It may sound trivial but on a long morning commute it is punishing. Overall the Pac. is a nice car but watch your expectations or youre likely to be disappointed.

Bought car due to easier entry du to disabled wife. Fuel economy very poor. Dealer in Franklin TN (Alexander) is very slippery in the sales department. Car was a dealer trade and arrived filthy and had body damage. Auto headlights work intermittently as well as drivers power seat. Dealer said "it worked when he tried it" never looked at seat motor or electronics of lights and just told me to bring it in while it broke! Front end shakes when I stop, dealer says brake rotors are warped and wants to charge $143 to fix a manufacturing defect. Head office in Germany very rude and could care less. Little things keep breaking and falling off. I would like to give it back to them. Dealer worthless.
